I find them to be decent quality, which is fine since my kids outgrow them before they wear out anyway.
Yes, seriously it's just clothing.
No, but I'll buy them anyway.
No, I only buy regular Carter's.
I'm not sure.

I really haven't noticed a difference, but that may be because my DS is growing so quickly he's not in one size too long. At 5 months he's already 20 lbs.
Wow! He makes my little guy seem like a shrimp! Our DS is super skinny...at 16 months, he's barely 21 lbs!
I agree about the store brands not being as good as the real Carter's. Almost all of the baby clothes we've had for DS since he was born have been Carter's and most of them got packed up still looking almost new. I did try a couple of the Target version and they didn't wear nearly as well.
The store brands are definitely not as good as the Carter's Brand. They are sourced differently with cheaper fabric and cheaper labor. They are designed to have cheaper artwork and simpler silhouettes. Just an FYI, the Carter's "outlets" are not actually outlets. They carry the newest lines at the same prices that you will find at regular Carter's stores. They might have more clearance. I would love to know where you found Child of Mine at a Carter's outlet because that should not be happening unless we have a true outlet somewhere that I don't know about.

I know I bought Child of Mine for my twins (who are now 6 years old) at some point at my Carters "outlet" here in Medford, MN. Haven't seen that label there for a while, but I also remember when they used to have a seconds rack at my Carters store too (holes, stitching errors, stains, etc...), so it may depend on when you started shopping their outlet stores, because they did used to have true "outlet" fare.
Sometimes I think the store lablels have the same quality, but in smaller sizes, for example; I love Carters washcloths, found some Child of Mine washcloths at Big Lots. The material is the same, but the washcloth is about 25% smaller on the store label ones, though for the price I paid, I can't complain. OTOH, the Carters hooded towels I have are finally beginning to fall apart, the Child of Mine are still going strong. The binding and extra details on the Carters ones was softer and more susceptible to wear, though again, I can't complain after 6 years of use
