TIPS Gymboree ~ Tips for Saving $ at Gymboree.

How do you save money at Gymboree?
I know there are a few people out there just dying to know the inner workings and secret codes of Gymboree. ;) I've listed a few ways I save some $ at Gymboree, and I'd love input from others!

  1. Coupons, coupons, coupons! That is what this board is all about, right? ;) There is almost always some coupon to be had. Though keep in mind that you can not use a coupon when you are redeeming Gymbucks, or during the Circle of Friends promotions. You may, however, use a coupon to earn
  2. No matter how cute the line is when it first comes out, it WILL go on sale and it will eventually go to 20% or more off. I wait until a good sale or the first mark-down before I purchase a new line.
  3. Get on their snail mail list. They occasionally send out mailers and other goodies specifically for you! In addition, sign up for their email newsletter. Sure, we'll try to post good sales here on the forum, but there's something nice about getting the email with the sales info in it.
  4. Take advantage of GymBucks. There are many strategies for how to earn GymBucks, but regardless of your tactic in the long run these can save you a pretty penny. Just remember that shopping online during GymBucks Redemption can mean fierce competition.
  5. Take advantage of sales - and know when you can combine the sale with coupon!
  6. Don't be afraid to ask for a price adjustment. If an item goes on sale within 7 days of your purchase, bring your receipt into the store and you can ask for a price adjustment.
Merged the Coupons and Saving thread to hopefully make it easier for everyone! :) -SCD 9/23

oh and another way to get coupons...

during this past GBR, if you got the newborn boxes (at least online anyway) they had a nice little coupon tucked away inside.

I have 5 from it. a Cookie coupon, a plum and one other random one. I'll probably give some away soon.

and watch the coupons. I've read that the cookie coupon does NOT work online AND instore for everyone. so if you've used your online code...be careful in store.

This is what I do know. Usually the week around Memorial day Gymboree will have a 20% off on sale prices and usually Gymbucks earnings start then too. They have done this for the last 3 years. It has been one of the best times to buy Gymboree for summer.

I am saving some $ for the new line, I really like the yellow. (Not so keen on the yellow and black.) So I will probably start around Memorial Day. :D Sometimes I like to toss everything I like in my shopping cart just to see what it would cost if I bought it full price. It's fun. :D

Are the Cookie and Red Plum mag subscriptions free?

Thanks for the tips ladies! Gymboree clothes are so cute and fit my DD well. We have Gymboree all over here and an outlet as well but the outlet's 1 yr old line prices are sometimes more expensive than current lines of sale priced Gymboree clothes.

no.

red plum is the insert in the newspaper. no gymbo coupon there.

Plum magazine is a 4 time a year thing I THINK. and so far we only know that the cookie mag had it in April. I don't know if its confirmed that there will be another.

Default Re: How do YOU save money at Gymboree?

Gymbucks aren't always the best way to go. The company usually aligns their redemption with a new line release that won't sell very well.

I used to earn a ton of gymbucks thinking I was saving sooo much money. Then the things I bought half off would go to 75% off or more later on. :(

If you don't have to have any particular pieces and just want the Gymboree wear for the quality, I'd wait for the really good sales (like Red Balloon Sale) and make sure you have a coupon to use with it.

Another tip is that if you use the Gymboree credit card you save 5%. It's not a lot, and honestly not worth it to me for that part. BUT for all of your non Gymboree purchases you make on the card you receive a 1% rebate in the form of a Gymboree gift card. Every statement cycle that you earn at least $10 in rebate, a gift card is cut and mailed to you. (Just make sure that you pay off this card every month, otherwise it's NOT worth it! ;) )

These gift cards CAN be combined with gymbucks. So last gymbuck earning I did accidentally earn one (and I always am compelled to use them grrrr....) so I used my $30 in gift cards from my credit card rebate and received $50 in merchandise for nothing. :)
