Costco -- why is it that the stores that you have to pay to shop at ($50/year membership fee) require you to stand in line twice? Once to check out and again to leave the store. Now I know the reason that they make you stand in line to get out the door is to check your receipt against the items in your cart to make sure that you didn't steal anything. None of us are stupid. Fine. But what really ticks me off is that they have the gaul to put on a sign near the exit that the reason why they make you wait again in line at the door is so that the employee at the door can ensure that "you weren't overcharged or undercharged for your items" What BS. Why don't they just say that it's to prevent theft/shoplifting??!!!
So, today I went in to buy one item - olive oil. I waited in line to pay for it and then I waited in line again to leave the store. When it was my turn, I turned to the employee at the door and showed her my olive oil but kept the receipt in my hand. I said, "How much does this olive oil cost?" She said, "I have no idea maam." So I said while pointing to the sign behind her, "Well then how will you know if I was overcharged or undercharged for it?"She had no answer.
So, my beef with Costco is that they treat their customers like idiots. Don't put a line of BS on a sign. Tell us the truth.
