Other Grocery Store ~ Question: Rouses ~ Are there any good deals EVER???

I know they don't double any coupons, but are there any good deals ever here...worth stock piling? Do they have double/triple coupon events? this and Winn Dixie is about all I can shop at...and looks like I'll be spending a ton :frown:

Sometimes....They have good prices on local products and sometimes on meat. There was a 10/10 deal a while back and I was able to get totinos pizza rolls .50 each after coupon and a few other cheap items. I've been doing more shopping at Winn Dixie, another locally owned store (Zuppardo's), SWM and Target. With no more doubles, my grocery bill has gone up ALOT! Its hard to get frees after sale/coupon now.

I emailed them and they have absolutely no plans to double or triple because they feel they lowered prices once they took over SAC that you are already saving money.......

oh yeah I like zuppardo's for their deli..but most other stuff unless on sale is pricey...gosh I'm so missing the frees!! I almost start sweating when I'm ready to pay!
I guess it'll take a while to adjust to the huge grocery bills. BTW we live very close to the zuppardos on Trans.

I live on W. Metairie Ave and go back and forth between Winn Dixie and Rouses depending on the sales. I have just started adding coupons to my shopping and this week I am going to WD. I never shop at Zuppardos because I met the owner (yikes) and have never been back.

Funny! I have never met the owner and don't live in Metairie anymore but have always felt like a dark cloud was hovering over me while shopping there. Plus I hate their parking lot.

I am curious to know if there are any stores left in S. La that double coupons regularly. Last store I remember was years and years ago by the Chuck E Cheese on Vets (can't remember the name)...it was across from the Weight Watchers that was next door to the McKenzie Donut shop!

I get really frustrated because my only main grocery stores are Tops & Wegmans and the deals aren't great. I do shop CVS & have a good supply of toothpaste, shampoo & deodorant. I have toilet paper and paper towels and have been told not to bring anymore home, but if they are free or almost nothing.........I'll keep piling them up. I wish I could come out of my grocery stores feeling the same. I want to save money on food. Seems like cereal coupons, soda/pop are scarce. With the midwest flooding the already escalating prices are going to really get more challenging.

I know how ya'll feel. I went grocery shopping today at WD and didn't save as much as I wanted to. I spent $83.xx and saved $32.xx; :shrug7:I know I am new to the coupon thing, but after reading about people spending 20 cents oop and coming home with $100 worth of stuff, it was a little aggrivating.

I came home with a handful of rainchecks and I swear I am never going shopping with my kids ever again!They didn't have anything I was looking for and my children were getting sick of me walking up and down the same aisle 10 times and not finding anything on my list.

Ok guys, where is the best place to shop for the best prices.

We've been hitting the Farmer's Market at Ormond Estates on Saturdays and getting ok deals (mostly meat and produce). But it seems everything else is going UP, UP, UP, even at Walmart.

I normally just go to Walmart, sometimes Rouses and WD. I'm in Kenner, so I have a few choices. No one has been as good as Delchamps was with doubling coupons and low prices :frown:

oh yes! I remember Delchamps!! and wasn't there a Schwegmans too?
But I wasn't into couponing then. I vaguely remember sav-a-center used to double upto .50 cents or so ocassionally....but it never was worth it as they were expensive.

We moved up to NC after Katrina and with tough times learned to save w/coupons there. But definately the coupons and sales there were so much better. I literally clip and toss coupons here as I never get to use them :(

It's not like the prices here are cheap, wonder why we don't get good coupons???...rouses won't even take IPs and that makes it harder.

I hate zuppardo's too...but the milk is only $3.99 there and the produce is cheaper when on sale..so what the heck..I'll shop there :shrug7:

ETA: Anyone visited the new CVS on Vets? I was hoping this one will have the coupon printer w/scanner but nada :(

I went to the CVS store on Vets the other day. They have a scanner, its right in the front of the store. Its not working though, the cashier said something is wrong with it. LOL
I got a postcard in the mail yesterday with grand opening coupons. Week 1 is a $5/15 good 8/16-23, week 2 is a free coke 2 ltr, week 3 is a free CVS brand item up to $3 and week 4 is 20 free digital photo prints. Then today I get a postcard for a $5/$15 good only on Saturday. Its pretty big store and very brightly lit!!

We got really good coupons before Katrina. I could look at the Taylortown preview and our inserts were pretty darn close. I called a few manfs to ask them why and they said it has to do with marketing and population. I guess they still think we are underwater??

I sure do miss Sav-A-Center. I hate Rouses. I always did good with doubles and triples. My best receipt, I think I still have it somewhere, though it might be worn out, is $165 subtotal, $27 after card & coupons.

My mom does her shopping at Zuppardos. We stopped in the other day for a few things so I didn't have my binder with me and she's dropping bryan hot dogs in the basket (reg price mind you) and other things and I'm cringing b/c I know I have coupons for the stuff. And then she complains about how high her grocery bill is!!
