In the past week, Kashless.org has added over 30,000 new members, generated thousands of re-use postings, over 10,000 friends have been invited, and over 1 million Kashless Rewards points have been issued. Unfortunately all this activity has overwhelmed our servers and we are experiencing various growing pains. In order to keep the core functions of the site up and running, we are temporarily suspending issuing new points under the Kashless Rewards program until we catch up and work through all the issues. Don’t worry, any points you have already earned will eventually get into your account. We apologize for the inconvenience and hope to have the program up and running again soon. While the issuing of new Rewards Points is taking a breather, all of the core Kashless.org features you know and love still work just fine. You can search for free items in your neighborhood, post items, post wanted ads, create saved searches, invite your friends and set up text message notifications. I did get 300 points this morning for searching but I understand now. There is no where/way for you too transfer them....:sad:

Yes, and I did get my coupons today too. They were wrong and they sent me the coke ones. Don't understand that one, I am positive cause we sat together this time and I made a point of getting the BumbleBee ones. Oh well, its not like I can't use these, its just strange.

Man I hope they work the kinks out soon for the whole transfer thing. I don't mind the higher points needed at all, just so long as we can continue using the program.

On another note, Kashless is absolutely wonderful to me! Here around the Columbus area, there are so many posts and I've already picked up two things I really needed and given away at least ten! Its very cool and DOES create a good feeling knowing its keeping some of my bulky things out of the dump which is where my stuff always went before.

Well, they are up and running and EVERYTHING'S changed! No more points for searching...read below: (sorry, my cut and paste makes it look odd, the first number represents the 'old' reward and the next number represents the 'new' rewards)

Thank you to all our members for patience as we swatted bugs, biggered our servers and improved the Kashless Rewards program to serve you and the planet better! The system is now back on-line (as of 3pm PST 1/24) with new reward levels and new opportunities to earn Rewards.
It is going to take us a couple days to catch up though. All previously earned points should be into your account over at RecycleBank by Tuesday Jan. 26 8am PST. If you don’t see your points by then, let us know.
In response to your feedback and to better align Rewards with growing the community and increasing Reuse/Recycling we have made some changes to the Reward levels. We have also added new Rewards for posting lots of your stuff and getting your friends to confirm their membership in the community. There is also a new Reward which gives you 1 point for every 2 text messages you receive from us. A complete table of points allocation for Rewards is below.

The most observant among you will notice that we have significantly reduced the Rewards for creating Saved Searches and Inviting friends without those members actually becoming members. The goal of the Kashless Rewards program is to grow the Kashless membership community and encourage Reuse and Recycling. By adding a NEW Reward for when someone you invite actually joins kashless.org as a member, we now have our Rewards program more closely aligned with our mission. We have also added NEW BONUS awards for posting your 10th and now your 50th item to the site. The more you post, the more you earn. As it should be.
The 300 point cap per week has also been extended to trailing 30 days. Now you can earn a maximum of 300 points in the trailing 30 days from the current date. With the new lower standard point awards, this provides plenty of opportunity to earn. Remember, that BONUS Rewards are not subject to the 300 point cap. You earn BONUS award points anytime, even if you are already at your 300 point cap.
Thanks for your patience as we scale up and re-invigorate the Kashless Rewards program. Keep on Reusing!

Huh. Guess I won't be searching anymore, lol. Kashless was useless to me anyways and the nearest city is 4 hours away.

Oh, well. I just love how these companies come up with these fantastic ideas and then take them back a few weeks later....

I just came to understand recycle bank, and kashless seems a bit like freecycle. The nearest city for me is over an hour, but maybe as it takes off, more cities will be added. I think freecycle would be a more useful site, since it is better established.

That said, I think that kashless was right to suspend the old way of rewarding points, as people were gaming their system. They changed the rules to prevent people like us from searching, but not re-using.

Has anyone sent in a cell phone for recycling without the charger? I have a cell I want to recycle but I can’t for the life of me find the charger. None of the questions they asked about the condition of my cell were whether or not it still had it’s charger.

i sent in a couple cell phones....dont need the charger but if you have it i am sure they would take it....just fyi though, if the phone is not almost new, you wont get much for it...and if it doesnt turn on, you will only get 10pts.....i sent in one they said i was going to get over 300 pts for and i know the things worked...they said it wouldnt turn on and gave me 10pts...not that happy but oh well...

older phone will get you 10pts...and there is a limit of 2 recycled per month...my friend gave me some of her old phones so i have been sending them in for 10pts

Thanks for posting this. I just checked on a phone I have ready to recycle and they estimated it was worth 3600 points. It will only turn on because it has a little juice left in it, but who knows if it will still turn on by the time they get it? It's unable to charge because the port is broken. I was elated because I could use that amount of points for a really long time. I hope when I turn it they won't decide it's only worth 10pts. It's a newer phone that my DD wore out within a year.
