What is a Catalina coupon and other FAQ's?

Catalina Category Marketing (CCM) rewards purchases of promoted products with “catalinas”, also known as “check-out coupons”. These offer incentives good on your next shopping trip to that retailer. There is usually a 4-week window on any given program/incentive promotion.





Because catalinas can most often be redeemed only at the store chain where they were awarded or printed, catalina offers are posted under the specific store forums.

Q: Are catalinas manufacturer's coupons or store coupons?

A: Generally, they are manufacturer's coupons, although occasionally one will state that it is a Store Coupon. The manufacturer's coupon catalinas are not able to be combined with other manufacturer's coupons.

In other words, if you have a catalina for $1.00/2 product X and also an insert coupon for $1.00/2, you would need to purchase 4 of the product in order to use both coupons.

Q: How can I contact Catalina Category Marketing, in case I have a question about whether my local store is doing a particular promotion?

Q: Can I use a catalina coupon at a store other than the one where it printed?

A: YMMV, but typically yes, if the other store accepts competitor's coupons.

CATALINA COUPONS
Catalina coupons are coupons that print along with your receipt. Pay attention, because often manufacturer Catalinas that print at Kroger have the Kroger logo on them, but this does not mean they can only be used at Kroger. In fact, Catalina manufacturer coupons can be used at any store that accepts manufacturer coupons.

yes, I've used catalinas from one store at another store. as long as they are a manufacturer coupon, they can be used anywhere. take a look at the barcode and if it has the double barcode, the first one starting with a 5 or a 9, and says manufacturer coupon, you should have no problem. most of them say "redeemable at X" but will usually not say "redeemable ONLY at X"

Walmart shot me down on using a cat from Kroger, so I would say this is a YMMV. I would think it would be easier to use it at another store that also does catalinas, but I haven't tried it so I can't say for sure if that works.

Id say YMMV ...

I even had one grocery store who was owned by a different owner refuse the catalina from the same local grocery chain in a different city/owner.
They print theirs in red and the other prints in white and they wouldnt take it.

I vote YMMV, too. The Kroger I most frequent won't accept them with other store logos. But I have no problem using them at CVS (which doesn't even have a catalina machine). Most of the time I just save them to use during K-Mart super doubles.

Ahh Kmart that reminds me of another one. The guy at super doubles last time said people were coming in with Kroger coupons and that was not aloud so they were having to double check everything. I think he meant cats because I had a Kmart cat he was inspecting at that moment.
