I've occasionally purchased a hard-to-find item or an Asian product on Amazon. We love Okinomiyaki, rolled sushi, Thai red curry shrimp, and a lot of other Asian dishes. I either have to wait until we are heading down near the Asian grocery 50 miles from my house to pick up things like red curry paste, Thai basil, toasted nori sheets, and okinomi sauce, or order online. I also buy wheat berries in bulk from a store listed on Amazon because no where around here seems to carry them and I like to grind my own flour. Some people claim it is cheaper, but they must have somewhere locally they get a better price, I guess.
Sometimes their food looks like a good deal, for example I once thought about ordering my favorite pasta sauce. I hadn't thought about it until I saw this thread, but I guess I like to get a look at my product before I buy. Besides that, I kind of like to get out of the house and roam a store. As far as I know, you can't use coupons at Amazon, either, though maybe they have website deals sometimes. I can usually find a really good deal locally, use coupons, and buy in quantity only if I really want to. I don't have a clue what I'd do with that much Parmesan cheese, for example. Besides that, I much prefer to buy a wedge of Parmesan Reggiano and grate my own as needed. You get a lot more flavor that way. I think I might like to buy a case of my favorite pasta sauce just because when it is on sale here, they usually run out of the variety I like quickly.
