Default Mole Removal - How bad is it?

I know that mole removal is not that painful when done to the "fatty" parts of one's body (flat part of the neck, back, legs, etc..) but....

But my question is this: I have a mole on my neck - the part of the neck where there is no extra skin or cushioning, like right under the jaw (like where a turtle neck doesn't even cover), no fatty tissue at all.... I am terrified that given the area, the pain will be unbearable and significantly greater then other parts of the body. Anyone know? Also, since it is such a visible area, in you alls opinions, which kind of removal leaves less of a scar - freezing it off or cutting?

If a mole is removed, will it also cause the hair that is coming from that mole to be gone for good too?

I've had several moles removed from various places, including punch biopsies which involves sutures. None of them hurt at all. They inject some numbing stuff around it and take it off. I never felt a thing. Some have been on fatty areas and some not, like on my scalp. I don't know about the hairy mole thing.

There was a mole thread on here at one point.

I have a mole in my armpit. :(

    It isn't painful. It's embarrassing.
In the summer, I'm careful of lifting that arm up. I don't like for people to notice it.

Then again, I've never noticed anything in anyones armpit before...other than chunks of deodorant

I read the thread you dug up.... it's the numbing needles that really concern me - cause they will be going in my neck and not the fatty part of the neck - like the part where your vocal cords are.... I am not so sure I can tolerate the pain of needles there.

From what I read online, it seems alot of the hairs found in the mole - are still there once the mole is removed and that is the main reason I am having it removed.... to remove the sudden hair that has started showing up... so I would really be dissapointed if I was left with that. Anyone have any moles removed that had a hair - did it go away with the mole?
