Try getting a Waterpik. My roommate had the same problem for awhile. His dentist said he was damaging his gums from over brushing with the electric toothbrush. He used baking soda and peroxide to brush and rinsed with a warm salt water solution four times a day to bring down the inflammation. In a few months time he gums reattached and all sensitivity was gone. BTW he did have planing done.

My husband actually has gum disease and they told him they could do extensive gum cleaning and other work but without it he will need dentures....He also dont take care of his teeth as he should...I actually have opposite of your problem..I have good gums but my teeth are very soft...I had to have all of my bottom teeth pulled a a plate put in and I was devistated but there was nothing I could do! After about 3 years you just kinda get used to it...but my hubbys dentist said with extensive gum work his gums could get back to normal...My mom has bad receeding gum lines a lil worse than yours but idk if she ever had them looked at or anything...Good luck to you and sometimes theres nothing you can do but listen to your dentist

Been on the Peridex for a month now, gums are still extra pink right around the teeth so I am guessing that means the gingivitis infection is still there.... not really sure what else to do.

what toothbrush are you using? I'd also change your toothpaste to a clinical kind.

About a month ago, I switched from a manual toothbrush to an electric toothbrush. I am still taking the medicine - I just wonder if I can stop taking it yet.... I shouldn't have to take it indefinately I wouldn't think.

It took you more then a month to develop gingivitis expect it to take more then a month to heal it.
