My sister had lapband and her surgeon never blew her off like your surgeon has.

I am glad you are okay but this case sounds fishy if the surgeon refused to see you and kept refering you somewhere else.
    No, no, no.....

My bariatric surgeon is the one who started this back in Oct with the first trip to the ER to rule out kidney stones. He and his staff have done all they can do. It is my PCP, current urologist and current nephrologist who keep playing ping pong with me.

My plan is after the surgery to ask the NEW urologist for a letter detailing his findings and present that to both the current urologist and nephrologist along with letters of termination. There is no way that a little stone grew to 1 cm in a month. That sucker has been in there for a while and to continue monitoring it leads me to believe they were waiting for it to get stuck and send me septic again. (long story, 16mm stone was stuck in a ureter almost 4 years ago, i went septic, on a vent for a week, nasty business for me and my family) I have NO desire to repeat any of that which is why right now I am quite furious with everyone.

I have to write this all out, just in case.

Okay boys and girls... drum roll, please....

After spending Thanksgiving and the past two days on pain meds while I dealt with family, I hit my last wall and called the NEW urologist, DR L ... AWESOME!!!!

Called him last night in tears and he directed admitted me to the teaching hospital. Got some pain meds and labs done, was added onto today's surgery schedule. Was told that it would be at least 12pm before they got to me. So at 9:30, DR L comes up and asks my nurse if I am ready for the OR. WAit??? NOW?? REALLY?? Let's go!!!

So I had my lithotripsy, a csytology, a ureter something or other. During the litho, he lasered the 1cm stone, discovered 2 others that I would not have been able to pass, so he got them with the laser as well. Then there were 3 too small for the laser, so he used a basket claw thing to get them. Fished the sediment and tiniest stones out, pronounced me healed and sent me back to my room.

My biggest problem right now is that I am sore and tired. Really didn't sleep good last night at all. Can' wait for dinner tonight! Am a wee bit hungry

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE FOR ENDURING THIS SAGA WITH ME!!!
