I have never had this happen before. Have you went and seen your family doctor? You could very well have a broken rib. My mother broke her foot and didn't even know how she did it. So you never know. Hope you feel better soon.
OMG what is this? About a month ago, I was bent over at my waist spraying underneath my car with the hose. WHAM! This incredible pain in my right rib cage happened. Just an isolated spot at the bottom portion of my rib cage. A few days ago while vacuuming and bending over again, the same thing! I swear it feels like a broken rib or something. It almost feels like a terrible spasm that takes my breath away or it feels like there's something super heavy in there.
Anyone ever have this happen to them before?

I have those but mine is because I have bad lungs and breathing problems..
Are you over weight? non of my bizz I know but one dr told me that the weight pushing up into the lungs when I bend over will cause it but mine will happen at anytime not just when I bend or lead over.

It could possibly be costochondritis - from Wikipedia
Costochondritis is a benign inflammation of the costal cartilage, which is a length of cartilage which connects each rib, except the eleventh and twelfth, to the sternum. It causes pain in the chest that can be reproduced by pressing on the affected area between the ribs. This pain can be quite excruciating, especially after rigorous exercise. While it can be extremely painful, it is considered to be a benign condition that generally resolves.
I had severe chest pain several years ago and was diagnosed with chocochondritis. It was very painful to move. I couldn't even turn over in bed without severe pain. It does go away on it's own eventually.
Three years ago, I was in the same situation: couldn't bend over, walk more than a few feet, or sleep through the night. The pain was agonizing. Doctor ran every test she could think of. No, Miz M, you're just fine. Well, what was wrong? One night, I forgot to take my BP med, Lisinopril. No symptoms. Took it when I remembered I hadn't. Symptoms started again. Went to Dr. on Monday, and changed Rx.
Now, I' m fine.
Don't panic. Could be something simple.
