    Default Weening off Lexapro

I went on Lexapro for post pardum depression in January. In June I talked to my DR. about weening off. I followed her directions and started taking less, cutting pills in half, etc. Last week I stopped taking it completely.

I have had major dizziness and "brain zaps." From what I understand this is normal after going off this medication. I guess it is supposed to last a couple of weeks.

Has anyone here been on this medication before? Did you have side effects after going off? How long did it last? Thanks for your help!

I went off Effexor XR and it was hell for 3 days, but got better and I have no lingering side effects from going off of it.

Lexapro was a rough one to come off of. I was on it for about a year after my son was born and before hell started. I had awful headaches & migraines. They only lasted for about a month afterwards but that month was bad with the side effects. But now that I am no longer taking any of those type of meds I can say I feel much more like myself and much more in control of things.
I hope things go well for you... They are just side effects, they will go away just remember that!!
