I think it happens to all of us sometimes. Its worse in times of stress, my husband is pretty ill right now and we're awaiting test results, neither one of us can remember anything here lately.I had to go to the store 3 times in 2 days because I forgot to put stuff on my list. I could see if I didn't use a list, but I forgot to put stuff on the list! Thats half the reason I use a list! In times of less stress I still tend to be a bit forgetful. I use a lot of lists and I set my phone to remind me of thinks like appointments,birthdays, bills etc. It wont help you keep up with everything but it will help with some of it.
