Infected Impacted Wisdom tooth
So today is my birthday and it has been horrible. I have a impacted and infected wisdom tooth that has to be cut out soon. I have no insurance and dont quilfy for any type of dental assitance. It will cost anywhere from $900-$1200 to go to the oral surgen be put to sleep and have it cut out. Around the first of july I can probably save $500...it will be really tight but i think i can. So I will still need about $600 or so. At this point I think my only option is to get a loan from my bank. The only problem is that I owe a little bit of money mostly medical and I have nothing in my name its all in my boyfriends name so I dont know but i dont think i have very goof credit. My mother in law would probably co sign but the bank is saying the would need about $1000 In collederal. The only thing I have that i could put up is my car. Im not sure if its worth $1000 or not. So anyway I just wanted to vent a little bit.

Many dental offices have payment plans you can set up...or installment plans.

Re: Infected Impacted Wisdom tooth
Do you have a teaching hospital somewhere near you? I have had almost the identical situation you have been dealing with and did not have more than $30 to my name at the time and the pain got to be well, unbearable. I heard though a friend of a friend that U of M had a dental program and as long as I was okay with 5 students being in the room for my procedure they would go based off of my pay, which as a waitress isn't much. I think my total OOP was around $300-400 made in small payments for a $1,000+ procedure and honestly it was the best experience I have ever had at a dentist and with my terrible teeth that says alot. Good luck I know it stinks I hope it all works out for you!

I found this online: http://www.okdf.org/Patient%20Inform...t%20Dental.pdf
There seems to be some #'s that might be able to help.
I've had an abscess tooth (not wisdom but it was horrific,) so I feel your pain!
Do they have you on abx?
