Thanks for the comments everyone :)
My doctor gave me three choices - wait it out, medication to clear things out, or a D&C...I opted for meds, and I'm glad. I took misoprostol, and although it was very unpleasant, I passed everything within a few hours. I think it was more difficult for me as it was very similar to labor with water breaking, contractions and everything, and I've never gone through any of that before...I had c-sections.
I will say if you ever have to do misoprostol, do it at home with someone to help you. My idiot pharmacist told me it was similar to a heavy period and I could use it while at work teaching preschool. Heavy period my %$^&...I won't go into gory details, but that was the most moronic advice anyone has ever given me.

OMG!!!!
That pharmacist is an idiot!
I am so sorry you had to go through what you did without fair warning. But since you don't regret the decision to use misoprostol, I might venture to say that if you had been told the truth about what it would be like (and what can go wrong), then you might not have picked that option. I tried a going the natural route this last time around, and when it just wasn't happening I ended up deciding to do the d&c instead of using misoprostol cause my doctor had me very well informed about what can happen. I was afraid of the intense contractions and the "very scary" amount of blood that she said I would probably loose. She actually told me that there was a good chance I would end up right back in the clinic for hemorrhage.
Regardless, I am glad it didn't end up being traumatic for you.

Yes, the blood loss was really bad, as were the contractions. I was just glad that everything was over and done with in a few hours.
I had a parent at school who had a D&C around the same time and developed a horrible infection, so I think that affected my choice a great deal.

Oh dear...infections are scary too. Yeah, they all definitely have their risks. In all actuality, neither are good choices and it really sucks we have to be in that position. It had been 6 weeks of waiting for my body to do it naturally though, with my cervix open off and on throughout, and I hadn't gotten an infection yet so I guess I used that in my logic to pick the D&C. Also, it had been a lot of mental stress over the 6 weeks of waiting, and I am just way too anxious of a person to begin with...so I totally could have seen myself bleeding a lot and going into a panic attack or something.
