Tympanoplasty

Anyone ever had this done? If so, wondering about the recovery. Too late to talk me out of it as I just had it done. My face is swollen and lots of pain today. How long did this last? How long did your ear drain? Any words of advice?

Was it a fatty graft, a fascia graft or a paper graft. Did they do the procedure through the ear canal or lay your ear forward? My son had it done a few years ago, but withouth knowing more specifics about the procedure you had done, it is hard to give much advice.

Thanks for your response. I was able to speak with the nurse to get answers to my questions. Apparently, this is not a fast, painfree recovery:(

My DD had this done when she was 6
She didn't have a lot of pain from it. I remember having to keep her on the "still" side for about two weeks. It was a God send for her to have this procedure.
