QUESTION Resolving Gallbladder Issues w/o Surgery?

I think my problem is Gallstones/Gallbladder related. Long family history.
My uncles, father, and sisters have had to have theirs removed. Two were emergency surgery.
DH had to have his gallbladder removed, his brother's wife had to have hers removed.

I am high risk for anesthisologists (sp?), meaning that they won't get involved, unless it's something life threatening, that MUST be done.

Of course, them not wanting to do it, scares the daylights out of me, to the point where I wouldn't choose any of those anesthisologists. Nor do I want to take the risk. We still have children in the house.

It took the drs. too long to diagnose my husbands gallbladder. Treated him as if he was a hypochondriac. He lost 52 lbs while they were figuring it out! DH is a beanpole to begin with.

I would love to drop that much weight, but can't leave it go that long, as the pain is horrible. At least I'm off work for another week right now, so I don't have to worry about that, but still...

So tell me, has anyone had success in removing gallstones w/ home remedies, and if so, which one(s) did you use?

in agony...I unintentionally kept dh out of the bedroom last night, w/ my internal belching noises. Nothing worked for me!

First, make sure it's truly your gall bladder that is the problem, a simple scan can determine that.

If it is, there is no way to resolve it at home. No diet, no pills, if the gall bladder is creating stones, it will eventually try to move them through the system.

I had my gall bladder removed emergency style. I had only had 4 attacks, but when they did the surgery, there was crushed gall stone matter all through my system, took them a while to clean it up.

Invasive surgery isn't necessary anymore IF the gall bladder is still semi healthy, they can literally zap (shock wave treatment) the stones without a single cut - here's some information on that procedure:

That would be awesome, if I could. DH was going for a laproscopic surgery-that is, until they took a look around. He ended up having to stay in the hospital, since he ended up needing more invasive surgery to remove it, and all the stones.

Because I put off having my gallbladder removed I ended up with a stone in my pancreatic duct, which caused pancreatitis and I had to be hospitalized for nearly a week. Pancreatits is life threatening and has to be treated aggressively. (All while my hubby had just left for basic training and I had a two month old!)

So as a pp said - if it is for sure your gallbladder - do it sooner than later. You will just save yourself pain in the end! Ask your doctor for an ultrasound and a HIDA scan.

Hepatobiliary Iminodiacetic Acid Scan. Its a nuclear scan. They will inject you with medicine which basically makes your gallbladder start working and then they take images to see whats going on.

    Thanks for answering.
What does that show, that an ultrasound doesn't? (what is the difference?)

A gallbladder ultrasound only shows if you have gall stones or not. The HIDA scan will actually track bile flow and see if your gallbladder is functioning correctly.
