Default Ear tubes as an adult

Anyone have ear tubes put in as an adult? How was the procedure? How was it afterwards? Better hearing? No fluid? etc

I did, but still blew out my eardums beside the tubes (which was why they were putting them in). I now have perm holes in both eardrums, but it's actually better that way, flying is easier, no more fluid build up...water in the ears is an issue, but I keep antibiotic drops on hand at all times & have custom ear plugs for swimming/bathing.

I had them at 17 along with my tonsils out. Okay - so not an adult, but close, lol. I had no troubles with the tubes or the procedure - but the tonsils were another story! I did have better hearing and haven't needed them again (it was my 3rd set).

Thanks for the info. Was the holes from the tubes or separate issue. The doctor said this was a rare possibility. I will be having it done to only one ear due to chronic fluid, some hearing loss and retracted ear drum.

Thanks! Fortunately, tonsils have been gone for many, many years,so this is just an ear problem.
