Re: Has anyone had both of their feet operated on? Remember to have a bag, box, cooler, or something similar, that you can use to transport needed items from one place to another by yourself. Even if there'll be someone around to help most of the time, there's still a chance you'll have to "fend for yourself" at some point and won't be able to carry things around like you may be used to!
Keep an empty drinking bottle with a large top opening, for times you may want to fix yourself an iced beverage. If you have to, you can throw or roll that across the floor, plus the puppy can't spill it with the top on! :)
Speaking of puppy: if there's no one else who can take it outside when needed, you'll need either an extendable leash that can reach far enough from where you'll be able to get to, or what my friend's grandmother did was tie a long rope to a post on her porch, with a clip on the end of it, so the dog could go out in the yard without her having to.
And even if you are living alone and are very independent (speaking from experience here!), please ask someone to stop by (or at least call) at a somewhat regular time every day. That way, heaven forbid something happened-- like you fell and couldn't get to a phone or the dog got loose-- you have a "safety net" for your own (and family/friends') reassurance. If you don't need their help-- great to hear! But if you DO need them, it's much easier to know help is already coming than to have to admit after the fact that you need the help!
Praying that you'll have a speedy recovery! Enjoy the downtime-- and your new-found freedom without bunions!! :) |
