PMDD (premenstrual dysphoric disorder), or as I call it, PMS on crack My aunt has it, and come to find out me too! Just curious if anyone else out there has it and how you cope. Thankfully, my female doc' has me on some birth control where I only have my "friendly visit" four times a year. It was awful before then having it every month!
My doc had me on YAZ(although I would not recommend it with the new studies) and it helped with my mood. He also suggested looking up natural mood enhancers like having fresh flowers/plants in the house, looking at fish, eating certain foods and listening to certain sounds, ect. St. John's Wart was another recommendation but I never tried it.
I was never diagnosed with that, but while my actual cycle was easy, my mood swings were insane..and when they tried me on BC..OMG..that was hell for everyone! Antidepressents helped settle that down for me, otherwise, half my life (2 weeks every month) I was just plain ugly...well, LOL...uglier?
Glad to know I'm not the only one! I'm on an antidepressant as well. It helps numb the roller coaster during the PMDD. My crap lasts for about 3 weeks. I can't imagine how I was when before the help.
You are not alone. I too have PMS on crack (hee hee, love that). For the first time last month, I stayed home from work. It's embarrassing. I've been on all sorts of BC pills and nothing helps. The older I get, the worse it seems to get. I have my annual physical with my OB/ GYN in a couple of weeks, so I will (again) discuss it with her. I can't be missing work like that!

I do not do well on any BC ) makes me 10 times moodier and do not like side effects of AD. I am miserable for like 1 1/2 weeks a month. Drives me crazy.
i have it too. i am on an antidepressant. It has helped me feel 90% better. At one point i was barely functional with the mood swings and feeling like i was going to "climb the walls"
