Default Unexplainable Back Pain

I never had any back pain issues until after Caroline was born. Now, I wake up in the middle of the night sometimes with pain all over my back. I can't get comfortable in any position, and the pain is so bad I'm nauseous from it. Now, I've taken 4 Tylenol and 1 perscription strength Motrin and I'm still having the pain.

I don't think it's due to me being overweight, it was never like this before having Caroline, or even while I was pregnant, and it's not every night, just sometimes. I'd been having minor back issues due to the epidural I got, but not like this. I have no idea what to do.

Default Re: Unexplainable Back Pain

I wish I could help but I am in the same boat. My back pain did not start until after I had my son also, but he is now 2 years old and it has been going on for at least 1 year. Is your worse when you lay down? I thought that was so weird b/c you would think it would be worse when you are up and about. No position is comfortable. I did sleep in a chair for awhile which helped some but now I sleep on a really huge wedge pillow....which is uncomfortable itself but I cant deal with the excrutiating back pain that comes when laying flat.
I am hoping someone has some advice for you.

Best advice I can give would be to see a good chiropractor. I swear by mine. Be sure to see one that is not afraid to refer you to a MD or Orthopedic doctor if need be. I am currently working with both for my back issues.

Regarding laying down, it actually puts more pressure on the spine depending on which position you lay.

Just throwing this out there, but could you be pregnant again? I know that when I was pregnant for my second time, I had horrible back pain occasionally that wouldn't go away...

In any case, I hope you feel better soon!

Uhhh.... I don't THINK so. I mean, anything is possible I suppose, but we're being careful...

Default Re: Unexplainable Back Pain

I have had constant backpain while sleeping since I had #3...and slept on a couch for months because it was better for my hips than our bed...nothing was wrong with our bed...just my back.

I got online, finally, and purchased..I think through amazon. a 4 inch egg crate...not the flimsy piece of junk kind that you can get at Walmart but something like this. Egg Crate Mattress Pad - EggCrate Foam Mattress Pad - EggCrate Mattress - Allegro Medical Supplies

I have been able to sleep pain free on our bed ever since. I just got a twin one...as it was cheaper so our bed looks a little silly but I don't care. LOL

Okay, now SNS4063 has me all freaked out and thinking I'm pregnant again. LOL. Except, I never had back pain when I was pregnant the first time.

Forget the tylenol, try aleve, you can't compare the two! Make sure & take w/ food though. When I was doing all my vit D pain, naproxin worked better than any narcotic did. Prescription strength is equal to 2 1/2 OTC aleve. Good luck & I'm sorry you are hurting!

Try the Chiropractor like rbunny said... Amazingly enough being pregnant can throw your spine a bit outta wack. My back pain started maybe 6 months or so after my twins were born. A few adjustments should help.. I don't think I saw the Dr. more than 6 months. *try Aleeve for the pain*
