What's a tagamet? I was just going to try and numb it with Aleve or maybe some Gas X. I have some left over Percocet as a very last resort.

Gas X and even a stool softener can help get the gas out.

Tagamet is for heartburn.

I agree...kind of sounds a bit suspicious of your gal bladder. Those are pesky organs.

Ice can help too. When I actually had my gal bladder removed what hurts the most is your shoulders...because gas gets trapped up there during surgery. So I would take the ice packs of my surgery site and leave them up at my shoulders LOL

If it truly is your gut then definitely try to start eating more probiotic and prebiotic foods. Probiotic foods are things like yogurt and other fermented foods that will add good bacteria into your digestive tract. Prebiotic foods are foods that the good bacteria already in your gut like to eat.

For something like yogurt, make sure you are buying a quality brand that has both live and active cultures, otherwise you aren't getting the benefit of the probiotics. There are also lots of good probiotic bacteria in naturally fermented sauerkraut and gherkins.

As far as prebiotics, a diet rich in dark, leafy greens like kale and chard, legumes, and berries are really great sources. Also flax seeds, which you can grind up and add to your berries and yogurt in the morning.

Good luck and I hope you start feeling better soon!

But gas does not explain the high wbc count. I'm thinking gall bladder too.

Spent 3 days in hospital- Yes it was gall bladder. Stones got caught in liver and caused very bad infections. I have to have my gallbladder removed as soon as the snow here clears up.

Oh no.... can they do it lapriscopically? That surgery isn't too bad...what hurt the most was my shoulders to be honest.

Be sure to plan to eat a low fat to non fat diet for a few weeks while your body adjusts to life without a gal bladder.

I'm glad to hear they finally diagnosed it for you, I had, it I know how miserable it is, but once they do the surgery you will feel so much better! I had the laparascopic (sp?) surgery and it was just 4 tiny incisions, I was back to work a week later.

Good luck to you and let us know how you are doing!
