Re: Unexplainable Back Pain If it truly is your gut then definitely try to start eating more probiotic and prebiotic foods. Probiotic foods are things like yogurt and other fermented foods that will add good bacteria into your digestive tract. Prebiotic foods are foods that the good bacteria already in your gut like to eat.
For something like yogurt, make sure you are buying a quality brand that has both live and active cultures, otherwise you aren't getting the benefit of the probiotics. There are also lots of good probiotic bacteria in naturally fermented sauerkraut and gherkins.
As far as prebiotics, a diet rich in dark, leafy greens like kale and chard, legumes, and berries are really great sources. Also flax seeds, which you can grind up and add to your berries and yogurt in the morning.
