Unexplainable Back Pain

That was going to be my suggestion, if it's that bad you need to see a doctor. Believe it or not, it might be appendicitis, that's how I knew I had it because my appendix were already leaking and had "retrociled" if I spelled that right up behind my liver giving me horrible back pain. Good luck, let us know what you find out.

Are you breastfeeding? I had a lot of back pain because of my positioning during breast feeding. I worked with a lactation consultant and it cleared up in about a month. Haven't had it again since.

No real update. They think it is an infection of some kind b/c I have an elevated white blood cell count, but they are doing further tests. I don't think it's anything super serious b/c I'm sure they would have told me by now.

Finally got some answers. The pain is not being caused by the pregnancy (though that doesn't help), it is in fact being caused by my diet, so the pain is actually from bad gas that is getting trapped in my stomach and intestines. I have to dramatically alter my diet and take things like Beano whenever I start eating those gas causing foods again. So, it's kind of embarrassing, but it's actually very very painful.

First off congrats on the pregnancy. Second, did they mention taking probiotics to get you gi tract in better shape (good bacteria and all). Do you have problems with dairy and wheat by chance? Also, too much fiber can cause gas. Good luck with the new diet. You want to feel great during your pregancy.

It is a combo of too much fiber, broccoli, apples, and fatty foods (like pasta). All of which are my favorite, go figure! I'm willing to try ANYTHING, though, to get rid of this pain, I've had it every day for the last week and a half, and it's been constant since after lunch yesterday. I haven't even eaten today it's so bad.

Wow, have they checked your gallbladder? If I didn't know better I would say that might be the culprit. Sorry to hear you are going through this, I know how miserable that kind of pain can be. Try taking a tagamet and see if that helps.
