Default Re: Unexplainable Back Pain

Dehydration and MSG in prepared foods can cause this as well.
Drink 2 qts of water over an hour and see if the pain goes away.

It started in my 20's, and there is no rhyme or reason to it.
I drink water, it goes away.
It has a particular pulsating/bounding feel, like a heartbeat magnified a million times.

Could it possibly be a bladder or kidney infection and not related to baby at all? I know when I got a bladder infection a few years ago my back hurt so bad I couldnt' get comfortable at all no matter what position I slept in.

Could the back pain be caused from carrying your baby in your arms a lot or perhaps wearing one of those baby slings? Hope you feel better soon.

Pain is back and I'm out of meds from my c/s, so I took Motrin. It has not helped at all, not even a dent in the pain. I would have stayed home from work, but I'm out of sick leave. I don't even know how I managed to drive with the pain, God was looking out for me. It's so bad I feel like I'm going to throw up. I am currently trying to drink water to see if that helps.

A suggestion for a different pain reliever would be Aleve. That is what they gave my dad for his back pain (they gave him prescription Naproxin but Aleve is the same thing).

I agree!! I recently started seeing a chiro due to my sciatica coming back and I'm NOT even pg again :shrug7: It hurts to walk and I have some bacl and neck issues. I've only been one time but intend on going again this weekend.

Hope you feel better!!

I was going to suggest this as well. It could be your kidneys either from an infection or dehydration. My DH often gets back pain when he doesn't drink enough water. He drinks lots of water and if it's really bad he will take some AZO to flush out the kidneys.

I have now progressed to nausea, some shortness of breath, and some minor chest pain in addition to the back pain. DH wants me to call an ambulance, but I'm worried that it's really nothing and I will have freaked everyone out for now reason. I'm really not sure what to do.

Julie,
The nausea could very well be from your worrying about it, I know when I worry about stuff and its very stressful I tend to feel nausea. If it were me I would just take a half hour and try to breath...deep breaths and perhaps try the Aleve a previous poster suggested if they are around. Set yourself a time limit and if you don't feel better in the next hour or so then make the call. Just try not to stress as that is what does me in. LOL
