    Default Morning Sickness

    Hello everyone,

So, I'm very early in my pregnancy, between 6 & 7 weeks, and it's been a little rocky with some spotting over the weekend.

But, we got to see the heartbeat, and it looks like the little bean is doing ok for now.

I have a really long commute in the morning...about two hours from NJ to NYC. It involves driving to the train station, then training to the subway, then walking to my office.

Well, morning sickness hit this morning while I was in the middle of a jammed train with no bathroom. I had to physically talk myself out of vomiting all over myself and everyone around me.

My doctor says it's a good sign, but wow...that took me by surprise.

Anyway, thoughts & prayers for my little bean are most appreciated...and any advice on how to NOT puke while I'm on mass transit?

    Always,
    K

How long had it been since you ate.

I was one of those that I needed to have food in my tummy constantly to keep from hurling. I ate lots of apples...lots of them. I would wake up every 2 hours to eat something to keep from feeling sick.

And the pregnancy that I miscarried was the only pregnancy that I had no morning sickness....

and just in case....bring I nice thick freezer ziploc bag with you...in case you have one of those really bad days.

Thank you! My mom told me to bring a bag too...but I didn't think that would really happen! It was awful.

I had eaten some prunes to combat another side effect of pregnancy. And had also taken some prenatals...probably what did it for me.

I think I'll take your advice and also maybe bring an apple or crackers on my commute.

I didn't have any morning sickness when I miscarried. I miscarried at 6 weeks last time, but my symptoms stopped at week 5.

Gosh! All of this is so scary. I'm surprised the human race has continued for this long!

Take your prenatals before bed. I found I could not do prenatals with iron for the first 4 months....no point in taking them if they just come back up. So I started taking scooby doo vitamins...iron free...with the blessing of my midwife...you usually do not get anemic until around the 5th month anyways.

Also I would take a fibercon pills every day...that helped with the other unpleasant side effect of pregnancy (which makes the first side effect worse). nice thing with the fibercon...is I didn't have to taste them...and they come generic too...so they are cheap!!

Bring a small package of baby wipes with you too...and toothbrush and toothpaste so you can freshen yourself up if needed.

    good luck!

I have never had any morning sickness, with either pregnancy so I have no advice.

I just wanted to say Congrats on the pregnancy!!!

i had it really bad with both children til about the 8th month, i dont wish that on anyone. eating didnt help me but i cant remember what they are called exactly, they make a terrycloth bracelet with like a plastic nub on it that is supposed to hit something on your wrist and help with that pukey feeling, i dont know if its specifically for morning sickness or for sea sickness but it did help me a little bit.

Sucking on Jolly Ranchers seemed to help me. Or maybe some other hard candy if you prefer something else.

I have 4 kids and was sick with every one of them! I also recomend the pressure point bracelet. You could try pressing on this pressure point yourself and see what happens.I also sucked on lemons sometimes! This also helped.Good luck!
