Feeling Horrible
I feel absolutely horrible STILL. I am better, but still feel awful.
Wednesday evening I was suddenly hit with a stomach bug. I mean sudden. I worked out, made dinner, ate, was hanging with hubby and BOOM.
It was easily comparable to when I had food poisoning years ago. My body even started to go into shock at one point.
Our pastor's family had it and were fine on Sunday, but apparently still contagious. My daughter was already sick days before me, so I'm assuming I got it from her (she got it from them). But it seems I got the worst of it. My son also got it, but it didn't last long with him either.
I am thinking it's one of those childhood illnesses that are normal for kids to get before a certain age, but if you don't get it till you're an adult it's much worse. Dh hasn't gotten sick. :shrug7:
I just needed to vent. I feel so horrible still and everyone else is fine. Even my son who caught it last. Now the kids are back to themselves and have it out for each other.
I suppose a few days apart due to illness means they have to make up for it? :hectic1: I am having the hardest time dealing with them right now. DH ran off to a gun show over an hour away so I wont see him or get any help until this afternoon or early evening.
I really need some support here to get me through today. The worst of it is over, but it's still very difficult to function. Especially when 95% of what I eat isn't getting absorbed. I'm still very weak. I've been trying to clean up, but the little bit I can do before feeling like falling over, quickly gets destroyed with these two kids. :shrug7:Why even waste my energy?

Re: Feeling Horrible
peachysteph-bless your heart. If you are that weak, cease from cleaning, especially if you get up & your heart rate is over 120 just standing. That would mean you are dehydrated & need potassium & salt. GatorAid may help, but potassium is easier to get more of if you have DH go to the store & get pure "Substitute Salt. It is pure potassium-can put a couple of nasty-tasting shakes with table salt in warm water & it will be absorbed quickly & will help you hold onto that fluid. If still nauseous, at Wags they have OTC "Marezine" or "Bonine" for motion sickness that I have used in the past for nausea. Be gentle with yourself-it will take longer to recover the more work you do when ill. Hugs.

Re: Feeling Horrible
I see what you mean. Oh, where is someone to take care of us when we are sick? Being stuck all day with energetic kids when ill is super tough. I'll bet the heat even makes your BP lower? Eeegads--well, if you like cheese, it does stop a person up:)

Re: Feeling Horrible
I had a stomach bug Friday night/Saturday morning. Not a good combo with this heat. Glad you are feeling better.
