I remember hearing about this. And a gambling addiction springing out from nowhere with another drug. Amazingly scary.

I started my search because I had a reaction similar to Ultram..it set off everything in my body within 3 days of starting it, I was only on it for 7 days & have been off for months..with my symptoms not going away.

I've only found one thing that links anything even similar in reaction to my situation...& I'm not sure how much validity I can put to the claims..given the type of site it is.. but this fits my issues..

I was prescribed Cipro for a UTI. It was my 2nd time taking it, so I wasn't worried. On my 3rd day taking it my ankle felt a little funny. After 5 days, both legs and arms were fully consumed by tendinitis. I stopped taking it immediately, but it was too late. My doc just said "keep an eye on it and do stretches". She had no idea how long it would last. I was in bed for a week, and couldn't walk or write for long periods of time for over a month. After about 2 months, it began to clear up. After 3 months I was finally able to exercise at my regular intensity. It was painful and scary. I'll never take Cipro again.

It exactly what I'm dealing with from the ultram..now, what's tough for me is I have had surgery on both arms for tendonitis in '05...but, I have not had to wear braces or anything for a good 3-4 years (it was an AWFUL surgery that took a LONG time to bounce back from, can't say I would do it again). I'm back in wrist & elbow braces now (which has my typing even worse than usual).

That said, it's in my knees/down the legs, I've NEVER had that prior to Ultram..and it's from teh elbow up to shoulder, I've also never had that, only from elbow down.

I also had a similar reaction about 5-6 years ago from celebrex..but i remember that more like flu achey thing, we assumed it was a sulfa reaction, but Ultram has no sulfa & we can't find a common denominator in the two...so now it's a HMMMMM...

I am so surprised everyone here is shocked. Birth control pills can cause heart attacks, strokes, and blood clot for example.

I see the drug commercials often. I am stunned by the list of side effects. I have to be vigilante with prescribed medications because I suffer from the most minute side effects. I've spent much time in the ER.

A podiatrist once prescribed me a medication of for pain. I took it once without issue. Two weeks later, I found out the drug was recalled because people had heart attacks; I have a heart condition. This drug could have killed me.
