After a back injury from a car accident, I had to have several of these. It was done in office and painless. It basically felt like someone was poking me lightly.
I have one scheduled for next week..and am wondering what to expect...

I had one of these done last week. It was not as bad as I thought that it would be. Good luck with it! It mainly consists of several small shocks and needle pricks.

So the needle in the muscle part isn't so bad? I've read pain up to 2 hours after...is that an exception & not ther norm? How long did it take? I have to do both upper & lower extremities...they'll only do one at a visit.
I had one done a few years ago on my hands, and they put those needles in the muscles and made me move my hands all around and close my fist, and OMG that hurt so bad! The electric part was fine.
With my bad back, I have had several over the years . I agree with the op that it does hurt somewhat. I had the needle things inserted in both my legs and the shock was painful to me. I had both legs, upper and lower, done at the same time.
Survivable for sure, fun? never! My neurologist, OMG..he could NOT smile! I kept trying to joke with him..his eyes would move a little bit as in a smile, but that mush wouldn't crack! My ortho said, yeah, no sense of humor, but he's as smart as they come..trying to imagine life like that..hmm..no thanks!
My ex had this on his knee. He never complained about any pain whatsoever. He cried during this procedure.
