Default Lypsyl lip moisturizer making my lips even MORE chapped?

Does anyone have any of the Lypsyl lip moisturizer from the last time it was a freebie still in the package and can list the ingredients for me???

I had some of the Lypsyl lip stuff in the Honey Rose formula the first time and did not have any problems. I am now using the Lypsyl Honeyberry formula and I swear, I think it is making my lips even more chapped. I can't look at the packaging to see the ingredients, they are not listed on their website, and the only ingredients listed on the tube are the "active ingredients." I'm just wondering if there is something in the stuff that is making my lips even more chapped.

In this month's Oprah magazine, I read that phenol is an ingredient in a lot of lip balms and it actually causes your lips to chap even more because it causes the top layer of skin to peel from the lips. I doubt the Lypsyl brand has that in it, but I'm just curious to know what IS in the stuff.

If you can help, please do and list the Lypsyl ingredients.

    Thank you!!

I hadn't opened mine yet, and it is the Honey Berry.

    Active Ingredients:
    Octyl Methoxycinnamate 5.5%
    Octocrylene 2.0%
    Oxbenzone 3.5%

    Inactive Ingredients:
Beeswax, Persea Gratissima (Avocado), Butter, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Flavor, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E Acetate), Retinyl Palmitate (Vitamin A Palmitate)

I think I'm blind now from reading the fine print, but I hope this helps you! :)

Well, I'm still at a loss as to what is causing my lips to chap even more after using this stuff but I do indeed appreciate your help by listing the ingredients. I wonder if it could be the retinyl palmitate...hmmmm.

There's a Blistex chapstick... Little grey tube with a metal ball applicator.
Makes my lips chap like crazy. Now I wonder what's in it. Maybe it has something in common with yours.

I had something similar happen with a chap stick before too. Chap stick naturals, I think. I have no clue what was in it that made that happen, either!

Hope you find out what's bothering you with the Lypsyl.

I actually noticed this happening with a tube of Chapstick (the basic, unflavored formula) over the weekend. I'd apply it, and my lips would sting and just feel more chapped.

    I wonder what's causing it?

Even all natural lip balms can actually make lips more chapped when they include mint or eucalyptus. Both are skin irritants. I have known this for years but recently read about it on www.cosmeticscop.com . I now avoid all lip balms with these ingredients even though they are thought to be more 'refreshing'. Other than this ingredient, the lypsyl ingredients should not cause lips to chap unless of course one is allergic. I have used Lypsyl tropical for years because it does not contain mint or eucalyptus and works very well. Another lip balm which is really good is is Avalon Organics Vitamin C soothing lip balm.

None of these ingredients should cause irritation. However, I wonder if the culprit is the "flavor". I mean, what the heck kind of ingredient is that??? I'd email the company and ask them what the flavor is made of.

Weird. I haven't tried that one, but I had a similar reaction to two different products.
One was the MK Lip Mask-Made my lips itch and burn.

The 2nd was one that contained Shea Butter-weird I can use Shea Butter on my skin w/ no reaction, but put it on lips, I want to cry.

Hope you are able to figure out which ingredient is causing it.
