I did the study on Lyrica. I decided on something else though.
I am 29 and have had it since i was 21!!!! I see a non-invasive chiropractor and it has helped tremendously!! Still have my "flare-ups" and days when i get down where i say " i am sick and tired of feeling sick and tired!!" Have not been on meds for it for years because nothing seem to help only made it worse. And was not going to get addicted to pain meds. I have this loose leaf tea that i drink when i have a flare-up and most of the time it makes me feel ALOT better!! Anyone have any other things they do to share that might help the rest of us??
I am 54 and have had this since my early twenties. I was put on Lyrica today. I am so tired of feeling like I'm 90. Mine is mostly in my upper body. My chest and back hurt so bad that it is hard to take a deep breath. When I sneeze or hiccup I about cry, it hurts so bad. It is very hard for others to understand what my body feels like every day. I wish my DH could be in my body for just a week so he would understand how I ache. I would love to hear what others have done to help them manage the pain.

Hi!
Have you had your thyroid tested? Fibromyalgia can be a catch all diagnosis, and is one of the symptoms of thyroid disease.
According to the Society of Endo's, and athe Thyriod Association the new numbers for normal TSH are .3-3. Anything above a 3 on the TSH and you are hypothyriod Thyriod disease can cause many things, includig muscle aches. Speically Hashimoto thyroditis which is an autoimmune disease that attacks and kills the thyroid.
If you havent' been tested lately, get tested soon. You may be suprised at what your thyroid level really is. Be sure to get teh numbers from your doc. Some docs and many labs are still going by the old "normal" TSH numbers which are .5-5. But teh numbers have changed!!! If you are at 3 or above then you need thyroid treatment.

I have a cousin that has it and she excercises regularly and swears that heat really helps her. She visits the sauna at her gym regularly.
Sorry, do not agree with the thyroid theory. Mine is perfect and have had fibro for years and years. Catch all? I take it you don't have fibro. Auto immune-fibro? Disagree again. But thats the beauty of posting, we don't all have to agree.![]()

I am also on Synthroid and have been on it for 20+ years. So the thyroid thing doesn't apply to me. Is there anyone on Lyrica that can answer this for me? I just started taking it and I don't feel dizzy or anything but I noticed that today that I would lose my balance. Not fall down but would have to catch myself a little. Not sure if it's just a coincidence or if it is the Lyrica.
