The ones at the dollar tree told me no and the brand name told me what I suspected which was OH yea....I use to be a firm believer in brand vs generic that generic was just as good but Id say wait a couple more days and then if still dont know buy a brand name test.

    Yes false negatives are RARE!
I've heard ppl get the at the dollar store & that confirmed their pregnancy
Go to your Dr's office for a free test.

btw the only tie it is not detect is if you have a low human chorionic gonadotropin ( hCG)
I know someone who had negative test until the 5th month of their pregnancy
This person actually had to take a blood test to confirm it

I used to pay high price for very expensive tests when i was trying to conceive for three years before my daughter (who knew that my boy would only take 6wks heh)
But all thru that i found out the cheapest way..specially for someone TRYING

I went on EBay and got those ones that are thin strips (they are actually the ones used in the docs office lol) no hardplastic thingy but a simple strip.
I found out about my two kids with them.
    i think i got like 40 for 7dollars..before that i paid 8 dollars for like 60.

lol i went thru three strips each week...thinking neg..hmm wonder if it will change if i do it again.
the only reason it will be a false neg if your HCG count is low (meaning wait a week and do it again) I acturly found out i was pregnet before my two kids but when i went to the docs they told me i misscarried and that i shouldn't have known it didn't last that long (doc made me feel that i was too eager and shouldn't be upset about it :(
    ok enough about me lol

serously those strips are as good as those tests in the stores goin for 8-14dollars for just one! i know i paid for one a week ago..whew it was neg lol

but if you just want one-two go for the dollarstore ones! no difference at all :)

I took several dollar tree tests and all came back negative. I went and bought an EPT test the same day and it was positive. I don't trust dollar store pregnancy tests anymore.

I'm reading all of this, and thinking....I just might have to go to DT and pick up a couple. According to my calendar, I'm a few days late (but I do have a tendency to move through the month) HOWEVER, words can not explain just how tender my breasts are! OMG, one of my cats was trying to get comfy on my lap, and used them as the 'turn around' point, and I just about tossed him across the room (i didn't, but was close to it). Generally they get sore when I'm menstruating...but this is just pure craziness. You think it's to soon to test and see? I have no idea. I have cats, not kids ! LOL

No it's not too early to test. I found out I was pg. with my last son 4 days before my period was due. The fertilized egg implants anywhere from 5-10 days. Usually 7-10. So if you ovulated more than a week ago then you can test. Then you can explain a little more to the kitty
