To demonstrate this commitment, OfficeMax is excited to offer our new Ink and Toner Recycling Program, with special rewards for our MaxPerks® customers. It’s an opportunity to earn rewards while helping the environment.
When you join MaxPerks, there are two great ways to earn rewards in your MaxPerks account. Choose the program that fits you best. In-Store Ink and Toner Recycling Program (Low Volume Recyclers) MaxPerks members can earn $3 in rewards for each qualifying* HP, Dell, or Lexmark ink or toner cartridge dropped off in an OfficeMax store location. Simply present your MaxPerks ID when submitting cartridges to ensure you receive credit and your rewards will be issued along with any other MaxPerks rewards accumulated during the month. You may bring in up to ten (10) HP, Dell, or Lexmark ink and toner cartridges per week (Sunday through Saturday), totaling a $30 maximum reward per week.


Mail-in Bulk Recycling Program (High Volume Recyclers) For our MaxPerks members who are high volume recyclers (schools, businesses, fundraisers, etc), we offer a mail-in Recycling program for bulk item collection. OfficeMax will provide you with collection materials at no cost, shipped directly to you, which you may use to collect qualified items and ship back to OfficeMax also at no cost. MaxPerks members will earn $1 for every qualifying** item mailed back, including HP, Dell, or Lexmark ink and toner cartridges, cell phones, MP3 players and iPods, up to $300 per month. Rewards will be issued along with any other MaxPerks rewards accumulated during the month.

I was at Office Max today and at the registers they had a sign up stating effective now you can get $3 for only Dell or HP ink cartridges that are not damaged. Up to 10 per week. The credit will go on your Office Max rewards card and be able to use the fund the following month!

I went to the website to find information and all I got was this, which differs from the announcment that's at each register.

My other half actually is a truck driver on an Office Max account so I checked into this new policy. What you say is correct Billig. Dell and HP only, no more Lexmark. You will get a $3 credit per cartridge up to 10 per week that goes on your OM rewards card which you do not have to have a business to sign up for. This new policy goes in effect on July 1, 2008.

June, July...I'm so simple minded that they both start with the same letter so I just remember them as the same!

SO EVERYONE WHO HAS LEXMARK INK CARTRIDGES TO RECYCLE GET THEM TURNED IN RIGHT NOW!

10 ink x 3.00= 30.00 x 4 weeks= 120.00 store credit.
That would be great if they let you use any amount of the credit on your card at once .

Yea, I noticed that the website says $1...but as long as the stores say $3...

Maybe it's a typo, or maybe it will change to $1 but the stores don't want to offend us.

so here's the deal.

you can take up to 10 carts per week for $3 per ink credit to your rewards account OR you can mail in up to 300 carts for a $300 credit per month on your rewards account.

in addition they are including free mailing supplies on their website.

with the price of gas it might not be a bad idea to just stick 300 carts in a box and wait for your credit. I wish my local staples would do some kind of mail in program.

so if you mail them, it saves them a bundle on time and paying you. thats stupid!

So it's not good for me to mail them,,,even for free, since the postoffice is the same distance as the Office Max.
But for those that don't live by an Office Max but find a deal they want to buy it would be good for them to mail them and get a credit on their account that they can use.
but I want $3, not $1.
