From their terms and agreement, here is the information on the ink recycling, the difference between the $1 and $3. HTH!!

In-Store Recycling Program (Low volume recycler):

MaxPerks members may bring in up to 10 visibly undamaged HP or Dell ink/toner cartridges per week (Sun. thru Sat.) to an OfficeMax retail store and earn a $3 reward per qualified cartridge. There is a $30 maximum reward per week per member. All recycling rewards will be calculated monthly and available to you through your MaxPerks account at the beginning of the next month. Customers can sign up for MaxPerks at time of recycling drop off to participate. Recycling rewards will come in the form of a reward card and will be issued to members electronically along with any other rewards they may have earned that month. Recycling rewards can be used online, in-store or over the phone. Customers can always bring as many ink/toner cartridges of various brands to recycle, but will only receive credit for visibly undamaged HP and Dell brands and quantities noted above.

Bulk Mail-in Recycling Program (High volume recyclers):

For customers, teachers, schools, fundraisers and businesses who are high volume recyclers, we offer the Bulk Mail-in Recycling program. Members can go to the MaxPerks website, log into their account and order collection materials. All collection materials are prepaid to the customer and back to OfficeMax. Members will earn $1 in rewards for every qualified item submitted up to $300 per month in the form of a reward card. Qualified items are visibly undamaged HP or Dell ink/toner cartridges, cell phones, MP3 players, and iPods. Rewards will be issued to customers electronically monthly through your MaxPerks account along with any other rewards you may have earned that month. Simply go to our website, www.officemax.com/maxperks, and follow the simple steps to get started. Order the free collection materials from the website and use them to start collecting all ink and toner cartridges and/or cell phones. Customers may mail in ink and toner cartridges of various brands to recycle, but will only receive credit for visibly undamaged HP and Dell brands and quantities noted above. The Bulk Mail in Recycling Program is not available in Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico or the Virgin Islands.

BEWARE.....
Make sure you keep the rect. for the Recycling rewards .It is your only proof you recycled the catridges. I recycled 4 on 7/2/08 my credit is still not posted.CS says without the rect your SOL.Think I'll donate mine to my dd school.

I kept my receipts, but me, my wife and about 6 of our relatives all donated 10 per week on the 19th, the 26th and the 27th. Their program stated weeks are Sun - Sat.
We received credit for ONLY the 19th, the last two havn't posted to anyones account yet.

Is anyone else having problems? Are they just backlogged? It says it should show up a couple days later, it's been over a week since the ones on the 26th.

An employee at Office Max told me that the reward comes in the form of a GC and has no expiration date.

I asked a couple of differant employees and they said 30 day exp. on the gift card.

I'm still waiting on gift cards from july for me and my wife. I don't know how long it takes them to get them shipped out. Come to think of it, we are actually still waiting on our welcome packets.

I found this out the hard way.
i went to turn one in and couldn't.

Got my rewards today from ink carts I turned in for July. I called MaxPerks customer service earlier in the month and they said check online after the 15th. Checked my account today and my July statement is up, you just print the statement which has your rewards card. Expires 10-31-08.

Rewards card can be used all at once, or a little at a time. Also you can use your rewards card with Officemax coupons it says on their website so try to find a coupon to use with your rewards card for an even better deal. I'm not sure if you can save multiple rewards cards and use them all at once to purchase a large value item but I am trying to find out (so if this months card does not expire until 10-31 you could get 2 more Months of reward cards by then, for a total of $360-$420 for 3 months worth of rewards cards when you turn in 10 carts per week).

That's why I prefer office depot...Office max and their policies are a bunch of malarkey!
