suew3456 and lbrown1618, thank you for answering! Did you take any pics of your gift baskets?

I started a thread in the stockpile forum asking for pics of gift baskets/bags/boxes - just trying to get some visual inspiration for contents, packaging, presentation, card/label wording, etc. I really want to do better next year and put together some gift baskets of my own! Preferably using free or cheap stockpile items. Please post any good pics, links, info, brags, etc. Or just come get inspired by other HCWers! :-)

Also, even though it's late, here's a line someone could use for moisturizer/lotion: To help smooth the rough spots.

Totally guessing on cost because I accumulated everything throughout the year, but I think I spent about $40 total (including a $20 gift card). Retail value would be somewhere around $100, I think. My MIL really liked the gift basket and says she has been enjoying it.

OMG. I did it this past x-mas and have been making them ever since. I have been making them for people i don't even know because they have seen one or gotten one themselves and they contact me willing to pay.

So I had one lady order 4 or 5 for x-mas alone. I was paid about $25 bucks a basket (this is a lady my mom works with).

I have people I know even telling me that's waay too cheap but it's hard to charge people for something you know you got free. The only thing that costs for me to make the baskets are the basekts themselves, the wrap and ribbon...stuff like that.

I also do put stuff in like bath and body works and small yankee candle...usually.

I made some baskets from stockpile items for a fundraiser/auction for our church youth groups. I thought they turned out good! I hope they raise some good money. I just listed the items included and the approx retail value.

Well I am hoping some of you have your creative juices flowing because I need some help. I am going to a baby shower this weekend and I dont have a lot of money for a gift. I would like to do a gift basket from my stockpile because the family that is having the baby is having trouble making ends met and I know they could use some of the essentials. I would like to have a card similar to the OP that helps to tie everything together, but I am having a hard time coming up with a baby theme. Thanks to anyone that can help.

This is the best gift basket idea that I'd ever came across. Can I copy the idea since I need to come up with a gift basket for my son's auction for his preschool.

I would like to quote them from you " Vacation Lover" HCW community member.

TIA

In this basket you’ll find everything
you need to beat the economy blues!

Toothbrush/Toothpaste…Because the economy has left a bad taste in your mouth.
Household Cleaners…because SOMEONE has to clean up this mess!
Pain Relievers…to dull the pain in your wallet
Shampoo & Hairspray…We’re gonna wash this mess right out of our hair!
Allergy medicine…because this economy is nothing to sneeze at
Make up…because we all know there’s a cover up going on somewhere
Air freshener…because the stock market stinks these days
Body wash & a scented candle…so you can relax the stress away
Deodorant…Don’t sweat it—things will get better soon
Publix gift card…because you gotta eat somehow
And if all else fails…EAT CHOCOLATE!

Other ideas...
Toilet paper...because the economy's in the toilet
razors...to help you shave your budget

Here's a picture:

Hope this helps someone!
