Wow, really great ideas here by Vacation Lover, suew3456, and other creative folks! Wish I'd seen this thread earlier! I would've shopped and stockpiled differently these past several weeks. That photo in the first post is positively inspiring - a very well-presented gift! Yet something I could probably also do myself, one day! How did your game basket turn out, suew3456?

Question for Vacation Lover and anybody who did similar gift baskets: How much total do you think each gift basket ended up being? (If you don't want to post publicly, i.e. in case gift recipient may be reading thread and you're not sure you want them to know exactly how much, please PM me!)

I am definitely going to shop and stockpile now with an idea to doing this in the future.

I did a few of these, with the original wording/items. I doubled some items, so there would be a female and male of stuff like the deoderant and shampoo. Anyway, the total retail of mine ended up being about $90-110.

I got baskets at Michaels 60% off (holiday baskets)

The game basket came out great. I ended up getting a "collectors tin" edtition of Triominoes at Kohl's for about $5.00, and everything else in the basket was a freebie from CVS or WAGS. My friend loved it and did not already have the game.

As for your other question...I did 2 of the Economy Survival Baskets. One friend loved it and thought it was very cute. Told me she was going to hang the tag with the sayings on her fridge! The other one, I'm not sure if she liked it or not.

I spend oop for the economy baskets virtually nothing. It all came out of my stockpile, I had the baskets already. I did end up buying the cellophane to wrap the baskets.

HTH
