Interview September 2007 Mod of the Month - Bugface711

The scoop on Bugface711

Name in real life:
Kristen

Age: 33

Home State:
Mass

Marital Status: Married

Kids: 3. ages 12, 3 and the baby will be 2 on Sunday.

Pets: 2 dogs (1 boxer 1 pom) 1 parrot named Larry Bird, 3 rabbits and an assortment of foster cats including my favorite, 5 week old "spike" who is an orphan and thinks Im his mom.

Little Known Factoid: HMMMM ok nice thing I have done is be an egg donor for several families that could not have children of their own.

Funny factoid, I have a stockpile and I even enjoy cooking, but I love take out I would eat take out for lunch and dinner every day!!

Favorite Money Saving Tip: Leave the kids at home! They are little money sponges.

Ok seriously, I do not get wine tags in my world, so almost all of my meats come from early am mark downs and I plan meals around those.

Budget: about $50 per week for a family of 5 and the pets. I could probably trim it a bit, but I'm buying diapers for a family member and pick up extra's for others LOL.

Stores she shops: CVS, Target, Stop & Shop, Shaws, a small local grocery, Trucchi's, & Wal-Mart once a month to use up coupons on trial sizes.

Coupon Organization Method:

A big bankers box with hanging files. I have food and non food categories listed on manila folders to store them all.
I have 2 check file folders for shopping. 1 for CVS and one for weekly sales and HOT coupons I like to keep with me.

Best Advice to Newbies:

Have fun with couponing. Go into the stores with a smile. Hey, whats not to smile about you're going to walk out with HUGE savings. You do get more flies with honey.

Also, be sure of store policy. I get much better results if the cashier is not sure of what to do when I can say, this is what I was told store policy was... feel free to double check.

Finally, I think the most important thing is use the coupons right... there are enough great legitimate deals out there. There is no need to try to get an extra dollar or two by using them incorrectly. That gives you and all couponers a bad rap.

Admin Notes about Kristen: Kristen is a versatile moderator - willing to take on many challenges. She mods several forums on the board, and by far, has a pretty big job. Since she's taken over the coupon train forum however, it's not only a happenin' place to be, trains stay on track more than on any board I've ever seen. Throw in some trading forums, and needless to say, Bugface is a busy gal!

She was recently featured in a newsclip about coupon trains and gave couponers a really good rep!

Thanks for all you do here on the board - we're glad to have your help and friendship!
