Thanks for posting this. I actually picked up a couple of the booklets but I wasn't sure if I could stack them with MFQ's. I asked at customer service yesterday and they had no idea. She asked someone else and they decided that the register would be the judge. I didn't want to try my coupons yesterday because a bunch of stuff is going on sale on Friday and I wanted to do it then. I emailed AAFES customer service and I'm waiting to hear back. Have you tried stacking them before? I'm afraid of getting to the check-out and them telling me that I can't stack them.

I'm new to couponing but here are the match-ups that I'm going to use for the sale that runs August 13th thru 19th. I hope it makes sense since I've never posted something like this before.

    Colgate Total 4 oz. or larger, 2 for $4, AAFES Q $.75/1, MFQ $1/1
Degree deoderant any kind, 2 for $4, AAFES Q $.50/1, two MFQ $1/1
Degree deoderant Men Adrenaline or Women Natureeffects, 2 for $4, AAFES Q $.50/1, MFQ $1.25/1
    Q-tips 500 ct, $2 each, AAFES Q $1/1, MFQ $.30/1
    Axe deoderant, 2 for $6, AAFES Q $1/1, MFQ $.40/1
    Axe shower gel, 2 for $6, AAFES Q $1/1, MFQ $1/1
    Axe hair product, 2 for $7, AAFES Q $1/1, MFQ $50 cents/1
    Ziploc 100 ct, 2 for $4, AAFES Q $.75/1, MFQ $.40/1
Dove beauty bar pkg, $2.39, AAFES Q $1/2, MFQ $1/1
Dove body wash, AAFES Q $1/2, MFQ $1/1
Caress body wash, AAFES Q $1/2, MFQ $1/1
    Dove Men’s body wash, $2.39, AAFES Q $1/2, MFQ $1/1
    Dove haircare products, 2 for $5, AAFES Q $1/1, MFQ $1/1

I just wanted to add that I heard back from customer service. Don't ALL MFQ say "One coupon per purchase"? This is what she said:

    Hello XXXXXX,

Below is the current AAFES coupon policy. The answer to your question "Can
I use an AAFES store coupon combined with a manufacturers coupon for
the same item?" is yes if neither coupon prohibits that practice i.e. only one coupon per item, or not valid with any other offer. Many times Manufacturers coupons have something like that in the fine print of the coupon. Also, cash will not be given back if the value of the coupon is more than the value of the item.

I hope this hopes clarify the AAFES coupon policy. Please let me know if you have any additional questions.

    AAFES Coupon Policy

    Coupon Acceptance
AAFES accepts online coupons. This change in strategy supports the AAFES Strategic Plan to develop a lifelong emotional connection with our customers.

Coupons are redeemable as a cash substitute for legal tender when purchasing the items specified on the coupon. AAFES facilities will accept all valid coupons when redeemed in accordance with the terms stipulated on the coupon, and ensure that the terms of the agreement printed on each coupon are followed.

After redemption, coupons become part of the facilities' overall cash flow and must be safeguarded and properly accounted for.

    REDEMPTION OF MANUFACTURER'S COUPONS

We will accept one AAFES-issued online and one manufacturer's online coupon for the same item, unless either coupon prohibits that practice.
The following elements must be present for the coupon to be valid:
    The words "Manufacturer Coupon"

A message to the retailer specifying the terms and conditions for accepting the coupons

A scan-able bar code and an expiration date

A manufacturer redemption address to ensure the coupon can be processed for payment

Usage policies in small print containing standard terminology, such as "limit one coupon per item, per customer" and "no copies permitted"

A specially stated face value, e.g., "50 cents" or an "up to" or "no more than" value ("value no more than $5.00")

For coupons with an open dollar value, cashiers must fill in the coupon with the AAFES sell price to qualify for redemption.
Coupons do not carry cash value. In situations where the coupon's value is greater than the sell price of the designated item, the item's sell price becomes the face value of the coupon. Our cash registers are programmed to only take the value of that item, regardless if the coupon is more than the item itself.

I actually haven't been yet to submit my stacked scenarios...so I don't know for sure how it will be handled. I have just recently learned about the ability to stack q's (from the AAFES FB page, actually! ~ their printables on their FB page actually state that they can be stacked!).

RE: the email response you rec'd, from my understanding, when the Mfg writes "limit one coupon per purchase" ~ they are only able to restrict the use of their own coupons (i.e. only one manufacturer's coupon per purchase). The store is free to allow additional store coupons to be used at their discretion. In other words, P&G can limit the use of the discounts/coupons that they issue, but they don't have the authority to limit any additional discount/coupon that the PX wants to give their customers and vice versa.

There are many stores (Target, Safeway, even Family Dollar) who also state "if neither coupon restricts" in their policy, understanding that the manu is not intending to restrict a store coupon but only their own manufacturer's coupons. Neither is the store stating that you can't use a Mfg coupon, but you can't use a 2nd store coupon on the same item.

I will say that all of this would be a LOT easier to sort through if the AAFES coupon policy wasn't so ever-lovin' vague!! I know that I have read on other blogs that they are receiving a LOT of feedback that they need a more clear and usable policy so that honest couponers can learn it and adhere to it...with so much grey area - - it is hard to know if what you're doing is allowable or not - - because each transaction is handled so differently. I've even read that there are some shoppers who gave up shopping at the PX/BX because they couldn't get consistent answers and plan their shopping trips and budgets.

I hate to say it, but if I "know" I can work a deal at Target and "think" I could do one at the PX, I'd probably just go to Target myself. I'll let you know if I'm able to use my stacked q's...let us know if you're able to, too.

Looking at the sales that start this Friday (20th) I noticed that Rubbermaid 50 qt. Roughneck storage container is on sale from $9.49 down to $7.99. There's also a 20% off coupon on the AAFES Facebook page that would bring these down to $6.39 (if I'm doing my math right). FB coupon exp 26Aug10.

I don't know if there are any MFQ's to stack with this, but it's a good enough price as is!

HAPPY DANCE Re: 2010 End of Summer Savings Booklet

Thanks for the reply about stacking coupons. I had some other purchases to make at AAFES yesterday so I decided to try my Q's for the Colgate Total toothpaste. It worked! Remember the woman in customer service told me if the register would take the coupons then it would be okay? Well, the register took them! I was able to get the toothpaste for $4/2 with 2 $1/1 MFQ and 2 $.75/1 AAFES Q's. So the toothpaste cost me $.25 each! I can't wait to head back to the store with my other Q's.

You know what else I noticed today? That a LOT of the coupons that I pick up in the Commissary actually have language on them that states "Valid in Commissaries and Exchanges only" ~ I NEVER, EVER would have thought to use a "Commissary Store" coupon in the Exchange...but they are specifically printed to be usable there! Holy Cats I'm excited!

Well, no luck for me at Ft. Carson...the cashier and the manager he asked said they would NOT allow a store coupon + a manufacturer coupon.

The cashier actually said that there are "coupon people" in the back of the store who paperclip the coupons to the receipts and write mean notes to them if they take a coupon that isn't supposed to be used. WHAT????

Anyway, I politely advised both the cashier and the manager that I had read the policy on AAFES.com and read emails from AAFES Customer Relations staff which said that the practice is okay, but they both insisted that is NOT their policy. So, I just said that I would not buy the coupon item I was testing the waters with (I took your lead on that one Armyof6)...and just bought the other stuff I wanted.

I think I will also take the plunge and email AAFES and ask them to specifically address some of the ongoing confusion over what is okay and what is not. We all wannabe ethical couponers!! Just tell us how to follow the rules at your store! Right?

Sorry to hear they wouldn't take your coupons! I went back yesterday and bought a bunch more things with my MFQ's and AAFES Q's. I handed the girl my Q's after she rung up my order and the only thing she complained about was that she had to re-ring EVERYTHING. She said that they have to ring up the Q's after each item because some people were returning the items for full credit without deducting the price of the Q. I had to point out that I had more than one Q per item once she started re-ringing my order (MFQ and AAFES Q) and she took them all. She didn't say one word about stacking Q's. Her only comment was "Wow! You got that for 25 cents!" I'm not expecting the same treatment each time I go. I'm sure I just got lucky twice and I'm leery of doing it again. I really wish their policy was in black and white. The email I got from customer service still seemed fuzzy to me. I wasn't asking the woman about online Q's but the booklet Q's.

Another thing I noticed about the PX last night was that most of their advertised sale items were not marked. I had to price scan them to see the sale price. I got a lot of great deals last night but it sure was a lot of effort with two trips to the store, the sale items not being marked, re-ringing my order, and just hoping they would take my Q's. I really hope they get with the program soon.
