Military Members/Commissary Shoppers: Introduce Yourself

DH is Army reserves but is currently on active duty as a drill sgt at Ft. Benning. The kids and I just got back from spending a month with him. While there I found a couple of deals at the commissary but not a lot. I actually like the PX more. I have bought a couple of high end items (flat screen TV, camcorder) that the saving on tax alone is worth it.

HELLO Everyone, we are retired miltary living near Fort Knox, My dh retired in 1988. I am new to the site, about a week, I really am enjoying it but havent looked around at all yet, so much to see and figure out. lol Nice to meet everyone. My husband is retired Navy and we live in Georgia, south side of Atlanta. I am a SAHM right now after having (I'm sure many of you understand) about a hundred jobs. My son is leaving this week for college which leaves just my baby (16) daughter at home. I told her not to worry I will be able to give her 100% of my attention now. Needless to say she is thrilled.

I discovered coupons (stockpiling) about 2 years ago and it was a life saver. I had major back surgery and we lived off of that until I got everyone trained enough to do some shopping for me. I am hoping to have passed on some of it to my son that he will be able to use at college. My daughter is my shopping buddy and loves coupons almost as much as I do. She tells all of her friends and even tries to talk all of the mom's into how great they are and how much you can save your family using them.

We recently moved to Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, and this is my husband's first Army assignment. I did a bit of couponing/refunding in the mainland in Illinois. Hoping to learn what deals I can find in the commisary and locally - not finding much in Hawaii yet. Any Hawaii experts here? Please help! Even Longs Drugs doesn't have refunds available in the Hawaii stores. Thanks!

I am in Hawaii also. There are not alot of us on the boards from hawaii. I shop at Hickam and at Pearl. Have you been to the peral harbor commissary yet? if you have any question about stores and deals just shoot me an email.
