This is already happening in our state with the 4H clubs. I believe Oregon commands are also eligible! It's a wonderful way for military children who have parents in the Gulf (or just out to sea) to relate to other peers and also work with counselors who are specifically trained on how to talk to kids about their feelings in regards to their parents being gone. Saw something on the news JUST last night about a local club for military kids!

DH is a battalion commander and one of his units has 160 troops in Afghanistan, so I am working on things for support for spouses here (all wives, no female soldiers deployed at this time) and want to do a couponing workshop, and build up their emergency pantry. Gotta do something with all the extra free cereal I'll be getting this week!
