Is there a box for them to fill in the amount? Or is it just a $3 coupon?
i have read their policy but cant find anything..
my question is, i have a bunch of "buy one get one free" cereal coupons that i will bulk up on next paycheck.. now my question is, it says on the coupon "up to $3 value".
i checked out the cereals pictured on the coupon and 2 are $3.27 and one is $2.68 . so if i buy a bunch of the $2.68 and have an surplus on the coupon at the end, will that get credited at the end so at the end the $.27 cents will actually end up pretty much to nothing?
or does the commissary really only let you have the $3 dollar and if you are under good, and if you are over, well you have to pay the whole added up amount at the end..
i know in regular grocery stores it adds up in your favor.. but is it the same here??

If the coupons says "Up to $3" and the item is $3.27. Then the cashier will write in $3.00 and you will have to pay the .27cents. If the item is $2.68, the cashier will write in $2.68 and you will not get the remainder of the money.
However, if the coupon is $3 off and your item is $2.68, you will get the full $3.00 for that coupons.
Hope that helps
No its an empty box where the cashier puts the amount in..
I have never been in a store or commissary that gave overage.
It is Deca's policy to give overage on coupons. Here is the wording from their policy:
"Valid coupons will be entered at the value stated on the coupon. ␣If the value of the coupon exceeds the cost of the product, the customer will be given the full value of the coupon."
Deca's policy can be found here:

By the way, I'm here at Yokota AB and they do give overage in the form of cash back.
We just got overage the other day on the Dial travel size body washes using the $2 coupons. They were 56 cents each. Had 30 coupons.

THANK YOU!!!
ok so lets be clear - this statement above means, that in my case if the box that the casier writes in the amount of cereal, states $3 and its only $2.68 and she writes in 2.68 - will i get this overage or not?
i will apprentely get it when i have a regular coupon..
also: do the casiers at the commissary know that or will i hold off traffic trying to check out and explaing that to her.. what my feeling is have to..sigh...![]()
If the coupon states "UP TO" a certain amount, they know to write in the amount of the item. You will not get overage on that item. However, if the coupon is just a $ off coupon, and the item is LESS than the coupon states, you will receive overage..
Scenario 1
Carefree liners are .88cents. You use a coupon that states Free Carefree liners (up to $1.00). This coupon has a small line where the cashier is to write in the cost. The cashier will write in .88cents and you will get this item for free. If you don't have any other items, you will check out paying just the DECA surcharge.
Carefree liners are .88cents. You use a coupon that states $2 off any Carefree product. You don't have anymore items. You check out and the cashier now owes you $1.12 minus surcharge. If you have more items, the overage will be applied to the remainder of your bill.
Hope that helps :)
