Default commissary: terrible service

Its a shame there is no where to complain or even any course of action when the cashiers have bad attitudes.

I went on Sunday to the Commissary. I had some free with coupon items I wanted to pick up.

A few examples of the items I was getting

Cheetos (have .50/1 any one which means free snack size)
Spagettios (.55/1 ) which means FREE spagettios
Fuze .75/1 (not free sadly but .25 each)
Rolaids 4/2 (for the 3pks)
Axe $1/1 had the deo which was .80 so free plus overage
Kotex pads .84 each had 2/2 q's

You get the idea. I had tons of free couponish items.

I had some that were not entirely free but were good deals for us
Coke and Ritz (3.50 and 2.25 each after 2Q = 3.75 for both)
I had goldfish for the kids (no coupons)
Sour Patch kids and swedish fish were marked down to .75 each the coupons were for 2$ off 3 so 3 pks for .25.

Basically my total after overage and coupons should have been about 10 dollars.

Get this : My cashier says saving $1 on .80is dumb. I told her thats cause she is never experienced the thrill of getting a great deal. She said she cant accept the coupon its a trial item. I said it doesnt exclude trial sizes. But I said fine. Remove the items from my cart and my list. (that was 4 items she had the bag boy dig thru and find)

Then came the cheetos. She said they werent intended for the small size. I said what they were intended for and what they are allowed for are different. Coupon DOES NOT exclude size anywhere. I asked her to check with the manager (she was gone for a bit and of course I didnt for once bring that damn policy with me)

Came back said no they would not accept them. They dont honor any coupons where the items is gonna be free. I said well thats dumb. You get reimbursed full value of the coupon irregardless. As long as I use it properly there should be no qualms.

So we remove 20 bags of cheetos from my order.

Then we get to the rolaids. She says the 3pk is a trial pk. (3pks is a trial version? its a medication fricking idiots )

I said tell her where on the package it says trial. It doesnt cause its not one pack its 3 packs. They dont want people buying the gas station travel size.

She then says they will not be accepting the sour patch coupon, the spagettios coupon or the kotex coupons for those items. I said forget it. I will come back next week with the policy and an email from deca. I will also make sure I have a cashier that knows english and can read. And I took my coupons and left. A full cart for them to put away.

Since it was over $100 they had to wait for a manager to come for a keyturn.

I am waiting for the email response from DECA now.

I see that you're in Kansas, is this the Ft. Riley commissary? I never had so many issues with using coupons as I did there. It was as if I was stealing, or taking money from them, 90% of the time I went in there with coupons.

Yup Fort Riley. Usually I have my coupon policy with all the details highlighted. She literally pulled everything out of the bag to see if I had coupons for each item and if there wasnt a picture she consulted a manager. I wanted to ask her how she got hired if she couldnt read.

Ugghhhh I'm so sorry. There is one cashier I learned to avoid, I wonder if that is the one you had. Hmm, I also wonder if my "favorite" manager was on duty.

If you can, Hy-Vee and Dillons are SO much better to shop at and much, much more coupon friendly.

Oy! I feel so bad for you! Even with all the heavy sighs and eyes rolling at Ft. Carson and/or PAFB in CO, I haven't had that much trouble. I have had to ask them to pull stuff out of my bag once because they said they couldn't take a coupon with a Target logo on it...but they've started taking them now that the policy has been explained to them better. I hope things get better there soon!
