Default COMMISSARY: Knox Issue

I was just wondering if anyone else had run into this issue. My commissary is not letting me use the $4 Knox Q on the gelatin.

I had checked out one day last week, used a bunch of the $4/1 Knox Qs (which they had approved in the past when the IPs for them were out), checked my receipt when I got to my car (I always do) and saw that my cashier had missed 3 of my Knox Qs. Well that's $12 to me, so I went back into get my credit. When I went to customer service, the CSM who is usually there tells me that she is glad I came back in because the cashier shouldn't have taken my Knox Qs. She said that they had received an email stating that they are not to be used on the gelatin, and blah blah blah. I told her that when I'd had the IPs (which I had used just a few months ago, they expired at the end of the year) that she herself had approved them. And she said "well now you can't use them for that". I went through the whole, "it says any" and yada yada yada, but she wouldn't budge. So I said, fine, I will make sure not to use them here in the future. THEN she says, "well you need to bring your groceries back in and pay us the difference." I'm like, WHAT? First of all, I'm using the coupon legitimately, based on what the wording is, and you yourself approved the use of this coupon a few months ago. Second of all, it's pouring outside, I just spent two hours in here grocery shopping, and I'm not lugging all of my groceries back in here. She then says well the cashier didn't know that he shouldn't have taken the Qs. I'm like, how is that my fault that you didn't inform your cashiers about this? She then told me that what I had done was coupon fraud, which made me even more angry. She finally just ends the conversation saying, well, you do whatever you feel is right and if you can live with that on your conscience, then you can just go. So I left. Maybe some of you would have returned the groceries, but in my opinion, I did nothing wrong. I used the coupon following the wording, and based on the fact that she had approved it in the past.

Ok, so that turned into a long vent. My point of all this was, have any of you run into this problem at any of your commissaries? I had traded for a TON of these Qs, so I was upset that I couldn't use them at mine. Luckily I can use them at my Publix and still get overage.

Whoa! I haven't run into that problem out here in CO, but I think if I did, I would contact DECA directly and complain that I had been accused of fraud by a Comm employee. That is terrible! I was hoping to buy some more of this Knox gelatin powder cuz hubby likes to add it to his morning protein shake for an extra boost in joint health. I'll be sure to be observant while checking out...

I have emailed Knox directly and received a reply back that the 4$ KNOX coupon is NOT to be used on the Gelatin. They are separate companies using the same name.

You did NOTHING wrong. It is their right to refuse the coupon henceforth, but if the cashier took it, he took it, you are not held accountable for that. I would complain to your store director AND the director above him about your treatment. For her to tell you it's fraud and "on your conscience" is way over the line. People need to hear about that so that it doesn't happen to you (or anyone else) again.

That was my thought exactly! If he had said while I was checking out that they were not able to take the coupon for that particular item, then that's fine, I understand and would have adjusted my items accordingly. But to blame me AFTER that fact, I just didn't get how that was my fault. :shrug7:I meant to call the director above her and let them know what happened, but so much was going on that I never got around to it. If she ever says anything like that to me again though, you can be sure everyone above her will be hearing about it!
