Hot Button Commissary Case Lot Sale in Sept!

The Commissary is doing their annual case lot sale in Sept and to make it easier on everybody, Ive copied the dates for all the commissaries. Oh, for anyone who is planning on going to the Maxwell AFB, wait till Saturday cause I "plan" on goin on Friday. Also, if you want to see it for yourselves just go to this link and dont forget to check out their Savings Aisle on the dropdown menu under shopping. I just printed out a 32 page "flyer" so that I can highlight what I want before I go & write the coupons I have beside it.

Thanks for sharing the info about the flier. I picked one up at my store, but wasn't about to type in that much stuff!

I'll be moving a day after the sale, so I don't know if DH will let me shop. He will be home for another month until they ship our household though, so maybe...;-) It's a bummer, but store and the store near my parents are having it the seem weekend, so I can't cheat and do it there!

I'd say go for it even if you are moving, you'll need food for when you get to your new home. Its a good excuse, er, reason, to use on your DH. lol I didnt type it either, just copied and pasted from the site. I actually live over an hour from our nearest commissary but I subscribe to Miltary.com and it was in an email they sent yesterday. :D

How would coupons work with something like this? If it is a case of say 16 cans of peas, then could you use 16 different coupons or only one? Do they scan each item or is the case counted as one item?
PM me when you post on the DB, I'll respond faster.

Honestly Im not sure. Ive only been to one of these one time before and it was maybe 8 years ago. At that time, they counted the case as one item but they did not change the price in the system for the sale. What they did instead was give you coupons (99% of the time coupons that did not match the items in the case) and told you that the coupons would bring the price of the case down to the sale price. When I mentioned that the coupons didnt match the items, they said it was ok, the cashiers knew what coupons were being used for the case lot sale.

Then again, the other day when I was just doing my normal shopping I bought a case of Ramen noodles and the cashier actually opened the case, pulled one package out and rang it up as 24 seperate items (24 x .13, i think).

So I guess it would have to depend on how each commissary runs their sale. One thing that I remember from the time I did the case lot sale, there were a ton of employees all throughout the store, each with a palllet and coupons for the case items, tryin to get people to buy their cases. lol So I suppose you could ask one of the employees or if that doesnt work, call your local commissary and ask them. Sorry I couldnt be more help.
