HOT COMMISSARY: Overage will be over if THIS continues...

My husband went to the commi at Hickam AFB today and used some Schick overage. When he checked out, the manager was called over. Although they allowed him the overage, he was told that someone is using the razor coupons and then returning the razors for a refund. Also, they had a lady buy 150 razors but did not did not purchase enough in groceries to cover the overage, so they gave her cash back?!?! Apparently, they don't know what their own policies are regarding coupons and that cash back on coupons is a no no...my husband let them know that.

So they are now taking your name if you use the Schick coupons to purchase the razors in an effort to stop the fraud. I have no problem with this, and I really hope whoever is doing it gets caught and loses their commi privileges. This type of coupon user gives the rest of us a bad name and will probably result in the loss of overage at the commi!

Oooh, that makes me mad! People can be such jerks! I mean, we have a seriously good thing going with overage as it is and people have to go and abuse the system. That's just flat out greed, and if anything, those people should be rooted out and have their shopping privileges taken away.

I use a lot of overage, but I've never let it go negative. I hope they don't ruin it for the rest of us.

this is outrageous! why anyone would abuse/risk losing this priviledge is beyond comprehension.

possible options for your local store management:
    - have the cashier black out product UPC code after purchase so they cannot be returned (i've seen a CVS cashier do this on an ECB producing item)
    - opt to not stock the item(s)

That is just sick. I can't believe someone would risk their priveledges like that.

There is a lot of shady stuff going on. I heard about several people buying stuff at cvs and then returning them for giftcards to use on other items (I know we have to do this sometimes, but its not a purposeful thing) They were doing this on purpose to get money for other items. I know this is somewhat off subject, but it has really opened my eyes to the ethical dilema we have in our economy. I understand times are tough, but doing something you KNOW is wrong is like a no brainer. I am just baffled. I have even been told by a group of ladies at a coupon swap party how copying coupons is perfectly legal. Really!?!!! Do people have a conscience anymore?
I'm back in trading mode, so PM me if you need .75/1 or 1/2 coupons - I have tonsI do not log into HCW every day, so please, please, please shoot me a message. ~Jen~

OMG!!! I am so on a tight budget and need that overage! I hate people like that! Yes they do give us a bad name and I heard @ my publix that they are going to start putting (on the CG & Rev. store Q's) savings up to $2-$2.50 so you can't get the overage on those any more. I hope it is just a rumor, I save more $ with those than anything!!

Oh. I had to return something to CVS last week, and since I had used ECB's to pay, the register beeped. The manager was glaring at me, but he gave me a gift card. Now I know why he was looking at me like that. Can't really blame him, I suppose.

There is nothing new about liars and cheats creating problems for everybody else. If that did not happen, how many laws do you think that we would have on the books?

I've never returned anything I've bought at the commi or CVS , I spread the love among family , it never gets returned or goes to waste. But my commi has a tendency ( by the older cashiers who've been there longer) to be nasty to couponers. They hate when you get a deal. They also hate when you know the policy better than THEY do. I don't go to cause trouble but I go to save me money and as long as I'm following the rules, they can get the heck over it.

I can't believe someone would be stupid enough to ruin a good thing! Very few stores allow overage like the commissary does.

And as for cvs, they are very good to us too. Some people just don't think or get greedy I suppose.
