Default Manu qs that state redeem at X store

I had some good Qs that come from a Publix ad. They are marked Manufacturer's Qs and contain the standard contract. They also happen to say "Redeem at Publix".

The first time I used some, the cashier wasn't sure if I could, so she called over a supervisor who stated that they are fine since they aren't store coupons and state "Manu Q" plus have the contract. The second time, the cashier didn't question it.

A friend tried to use some yesterday, and the cashier called over a supervisor who wouldn't let her use them at all and was pretty rude about it. I read through the DECA policy, and it clearly states that they accept Manu Qs but not store Qs. These are Manu Qs. Am I looking at this wrong? She's going to talk to the store manager when the comm opens again, but I wanted to make sure that I am not missing anything.

    see #5 from FAQ

    FAQ - Does the Commissary
    1. double or triple coupons? No
    2. price match? No
    3. allow overage ? Yes!! DECA put there no overage policy dtd Feb 7, 2007 ON HOLD until further review.
LINK TO DECA DIRECTIVE - see Paragraph 7
    http://www.commissaries.com/inside_d...0_6_JN2007.pdf
    4. accept manf catalina coupons ? No
    5. accept competitor coupons (manf coupons with redeem at xyz store wording) ? No
    6. accept one "military only" AND one manf coupon on ONE item ? No, DECA policy is one coupon per item. In rare cases, the vendor may allow more than one coupon per item as a special promotion but this is a rare exception

I had an issue with a Catalina coupon this past weekend at the commissary and now I feel bad that I was wrong for using it. It scanned, so they wound up taking it, but the cashier did question it. Now I know to pull those out of my binder.
Would coupons that Kroger sends out that say Manufacturer Coupon and not necessarily redeem at Kroger count as a store coupon?
I'm learning tons on here as well!

i interpret the wording of the policy based on my own experience. others, i'm sure, have different experience(s). individual store directors may allow certain coupons when other directors may not. again, it's in the interpretation.

if you want to discuss this with your store director, you may want to print an example of a store specific coupon (target &/or food lion internet printable) as examples and compare those to a manufacturer coupon (with the usual redemption wording) which mearly has a store logo on it...there is a difference, IMHO.

if the manfacturer coupon says "redeem only at xyz", then those are definitely not ok to use at commissary - even if it scans.

if the kroger mailed manf coupons do not have kroger logo or redeem only at kroger, then those would be fine to redeem at the comm.

The way you interpreted it, was the way I was thinking as well. The cat that they questioned me on had a Kroger logo, but it did say Manufacturer Coupon on the top. Guess I'll just have to start talking to more of the managers in my area and find out what they do and don't allow for sure. Hopefully word gets down to the cashiers as well. Thanks again for your input, it is valued!

I was denied use of the Publix $3 Sundown coupons. They are manufacturer coupons but simply have the Publix logo on them. I was told that they have tried redeeming those coupons in the past and did not get their money. But no problem. Those coupons are golden at Publix when you find a $$/$$ coupon.
