    Default Overseas and Special Orders

Has anyone that lives overseas ever successfully done a special order for a case of something? How did you do it?

I went to commissary customer service tonight to order my Schick razors. I had my UPC and database information and I was all set to go.
The manager came out and REFUSED my order. He said that's not how it works. I can't just order a case of whatever I want. The only thing I can do is fill out a comment card and request they start carrying a new product. If they feel like it and if they can get it, then they might start carrying it. But it'll just be on the shelves. I can't get a whole case for myself. And really, I shouldn't get my hopes up that any of my requests would ever be honored. It doesn't happen often.

I asked him why every other commissary does special orders by the case and he said that's not how it works overseas.

Is that true?? Can I really not order cases? Or is there some other way to do this and bypass him and get my cases?
I want some mighty dog and renuzit triscents and schick razors...I've never ordered a case before and I was really excited to give it a try! This is a bummer!

Any information or suggestions or help? I'd really appreciate it!
    -Tess

below is an excerpt from the commissaries FAQ section
    Commissaries.com - Special Orders

In overseas commissaries, special orders can come only from within the overseas stocking list. A personal, special order cannot be made from stateside (i.e. one case of something from America to a small Commissary in Europe). If you shop at a small commissary in Europe and desire a product which is carried at a larger commissary in Europe, that item may be delivered direct to your store. To find out about special order availability and procedures at your commissary, contact commissary management during a commissary visit, or by e-mail or phone.

And so if I contact management and they say they don't want to do it, then I'm just out of luck?
    I'm so sad now.

if the item you want is carried in other commissaries in your geographic area then i don't think he can/should refuse you to place a special order. perhaps he misunderstood what you wanted? imo, they should at least check the system for the UPC# of the item to see if it's available to special order.

i would try again - by email - and reference the DECA special order link/excerpt in my other post. if they refuse to look up a UPC or won't even attempt to order an item for you, you may consider contacing DECA directly to try to resolve the problem.
