Default My GREAT Deal the other day!

I went to my commissary on Saturday and I went to the meat section and I found infront, they had a full section that had been marked down. There were tyson chicken products, as well as pilgrims pride prodycts. The pilgrims pride had peelies for 1.00 on them. I had 2.00 tyson chicken coupons! I spent like 25.00. My total overall was 30.00 because of like 7.50 or so in cash back. I still have 2 1.00 coins and I tipped the bagger 3.00. I saved about 60.00!

But i got a ton of stuff. I had a ton of fruit, 16 packs of chicken, 4 packs of pouch tuna, some napkins, popcorn, 4 cans tomato sauce, 4 KY's, wech's grape juice, some taco mix, and shells, ketsup, Pam, BBQ Sauce, and Velveeta. This is the stuff off the top of my head. There were over 60 items total. I was very porud of my purchase...

Also be on the lookout for a new coupon for black history month. It is 2.00 off 3 items listed on the coupon. They are A1, Deli Deluxe, Kraft deluxe, kraft BBQ Sauce, Oreo, capri sun, chips ahoy, ritz, kraft dressing, miracle whip, oscar mayer, velveeta, and koolaid (excluding envelopes). This is a manufacturers coupon that has nothing to do with the commissary. It's found in the Flavorful Living book. Has a lot of recipes in it. They look pretty good!

And last thing to be watchful for...they have the koolaid singles, and thigs like that, plus the country time lemonade for I think 1.33 (half price-reg 2.66).

Sounds like a great trip. I'm always checking our meat markdown bin, but I haven't found anything great in a long time.

HAPPY DANCE Saved $26 yesterday!

I know that's not a lot to some of you but it's the most I've ever saved in one shopping trip at the commissary. I've learned so much reading this site that I just had to share with all of you.

The cashier was NOT happy, the way she was acting you would have thought I was trying to rob the commissary. She looked at every single coupon, front and back, sighed loudly, rolled her eyes and then scanned the coupons. If I wouldn't have been so thrilled about the savings I probably would have been upset by her attitude.

WTG!

don't let the jealous cashiers bother you ! some are happy for me but most are not happy to have to scan $100 worth of coupons.

another way to measure savings is by percentage. the bottom of the commissary CRT shows x% saved.

On my last huge trip, where I got about $380 worth for $21.XX, I looked for the percentage and it wasn't on the receipt. I figured they changed something. So YOURS still show the % saved?

nice job!!
and personaly I think it's great just to save over 20% at the commisary if you really compare it to what that would be in the civilian sector for that price it would more than likely be more than that.

hey thats GREAT!!!

See, in no time, you'll be doing that at tons of places

thats why i love the board, it helps encourage you..

ugh for those type of cashiers.. .. what you want are usually the teens, they're more cool and not so picky... i'm betting an older women?
R & R person? (rules and regulations) those kind of people drive me crazy, wait did you say this was military? Lol
I love keeping a journal of my savings.. plus, I count the NORMAL/REGULAR price ,, and add that in, ... if the store doesn't..

Say juice is on sale for 1.87, but its actuall usually 3.87..

i still haven't figured out which stores, do that , lol

and you'll start seeing the prices adding up... after about 5 -6 months, i'm starting to see REAL Savings in CASH!!! yay..

So keep at it... good for you..
