FYI: Michael's does take competors coupons (AC Moore, Jo Ann Fabrics, Hobby Lobby, etc.), but only if it's from a flyer not printed off the internet.

In addition, Michael's also price matches competitors ads. (I work there!)

Do they take Hobby Lobby coupons? or just match the prices on their ads?

A Michael's near me just opened up and I have noticed 50% off coupons twice in a month. Is this frequency normal? Also, I want to take one of their Wilton cake decorating classes but the first class teaches you how to make a clown and other items my 10 and 12 year old would never want. I heard from a Michael's customer in the cake decorating isle that you don't need to start with class one and work your way up. For example, the third class Fondant (I believe) doesn't build on what was learned in the previous two classes. Can anyone who has taken their classes share their thoughts on this? I would like to bypass the first class.

my 10 year old is taking class one, will finish it tomorrow. I have to say because of the hurricane we missed one class and I was told by the instructor that we are NOT making up the class. It is hard to skip a class or try and add some into another class in a beginning cake class.

Default Re: Michael's, The Arts & Crafts Store FAQs

Just wanted to share an update of the coupon policy as it was explained to me in-store the other day. I was also shown a paper copy of their corporate coupon policy from their store handbook that confirms this information.

Michael's accepts:

1 Percentage off a Regular Priced Item
- To do this you can use a Michaels OR AC Moore OR JoAnn's OR Hobby Lobby
- The competitor coupon must be from a competitor in your local area
- Note: If using a competitor coupon you should let the cashier know before ringing out your purchase as they have to hand key the discount in at the same time they ring the item. Doing it afterwards resulted in digging through my bags to find the highest priced item so they could void, rering and discount it.

1 Percentage off Your Entire REGULAR Priced Purchase
- To do this you can use a Michaels OR AC Moore OR JoAnn's OR Hobby Lobby
- The competitor coupon must be from a competitor in your local area
- If using a competitor coupon you should let the cashier know before ringing out your purchase as they have to hand key the discount in at the same time they ring each of the items. Again, doing it afterwards resulted in having to void the entire transaction and rering all of my items with a hand-keyed discount.

1 Percentage off Entire Purchase Including Sale Items
- Only Michael's coupons are accepted with this wording
- EX: You cannot use an AC Moore entire purchase including sale items and ask for it to only be applied to the regular priced items

Bonus Coupons
- Only Michael's coupons are accepted with this wording
- There is no limit to the number of bonus coupons you may use in 1 transaction

* Limit of 1 coupon discount type per person per day, not per transaction (with each category above representing a coupon discount type), except for bonus coupons (EX: you can use a regular price coupon with an entire purchase coupon, but there is a limit of one discount per item)
* They will accept internet printed Michaels and competitors coupons
* They do not accept expired coupons
* Coupons are not accepted on items that are part of a B1G1, B2G1 (etc) type deal
* Coupons may not be used for prior purchases (So no forgetting your coupon and bringing it back with the receipt for a refund)
* The official policy is that they do not accept electronic representations of coupons (ex: a coupon image on your cell phone), but some stores will accept them to remain competitive in their individual market as long as the barcode and the numbers beneath it are clear and readable so YMMV

Does this mean If I have a 50% off any one regular priced item coupon plus another coupon for 15% off entire bead gallery purchase, that I can use both in the same transaction?
