Using Michaels gift card results in CRT 50% off coupon

Someone gave me a Michaels giftcard and I've noticed everytime I use it I get a 50% off CRT coupon.

I seem to get this q every time I buy something... unfortunately, IMO, they're not good for much of anything. Too many restrictions and they're not good for sale merchandise. I don't pay full price for anything, so what good is it?

You can use it on an item that's not on sale so that you're not getting it full price. These coupons are actually better than most of the sales that Michaels runs.

Navybaby is right, getting 50% off is better than their own sale discounts, plus the coupon is the same as their 40% coupons in the ads, they aren't good on sale items either.

I've also been getting these CRT's every time I buy something. I started out with an IP and am now in the loop of getting a new one when I use the current one. I don't mind the restrictions. I don't shop much at Michael's so I'm not intent on getting things just on sale there. I used my CRT's on cookie making supplies for Valentine's Day. :)

I try not to let a 50% Michael's coupon go to waste - even if I just buy some parchment paper, or the powdered egg whites, or something like that in the baking section. They never go on sale at the grocery store.

I went to Michaels 2 days ago and it didn't give me the 50% off coupon on the CRT, and it didn't to the customer in front of me either.
I just got an email from Michaels with 8 different coupons to print. Most of them are a percentage off a regualr priced item, but a few of them that are for specific things (like tabletop frames, etc) are a percentage off regular AND sale priced items.

Hint: So it doesn't print 8 pages of coupons, when you open the coupon link the first time where it shows you the coupons, go to file and click on "print preview". If you click print from that page you can choose the page(s) you want to print.
