Ladies, I cashier at a Menards, and had a lady yesterday return a bag of that cat food because her cat wouldn't eat it. Why wouldn't the cat eat it?? Because it is crap! For the love of God, don't buy that junk.....spend some extra $ and get something that will not only be appealing to the animal, but that is nutritionally complete. NOTHING irks me more than seeing people buy their pets cheap a-- food......their is NO nutritional value to it.....they will be going to the bathroom more often, and gaining nothing.

I don't have a cat at this time. I get the free cat food whether it is ALley Cat or Iams and donate it to the food pantry, shelters, and to a lady who catches strays and gets them fixed. I figure for some poor quality food is better than none at all.

Just because one cat doesn't like/eat it, doesn't mean another cat won't. Some people, especially in these times can only afford cheaper food. Would you rather feed animals cheaper foods or nothing at all?....Sorry but I do not see your reasoning at all!!

I totally agree! My cat generally eats Science Diet because we get a good deal on it through our vet, but 2 years ago my husband was laid off and our bills were piling up, I'm not embarrassed to say our cat ate Alley brand for 2 months until my husband began getting paid again. I'm not about to be ashamed because I chose to feed my children healthy food instead of the cat. I knew it was a temporary situation and the cat didn't seem to mind a bit. I even added pureed baby food to it sometimes, when I got it for free or on a really good sale, to raise the nutritional value.

To the person who buys it for the food pantry or humane society... good for you!

I was able to buy two 8# Iams for 4.99 a bag that were in the clearance bin at Krogers. I mix all the cat food I buy, so there is good nutrition.
When I worked with the Humane Society, that is exactly what we did with all the donated food. Worked well.
